Since you said you are unable to increase the magnet pull I think these things would help:
1. Do away with the period of time where the coins are not able to be collected.
2. Have coins come towards the bottom of the screen at the same speed as power-ups and not despawn until they are off the screen.
When going for subway 3 heart I found it helpful to break the boxes to the left of the guy when you fall down. This gives him a longer walking path and more time with him facing away from you.
Pretty good game. However it is too grindy and it seems like the developer purposely made progression too slow to encourage the watching of videos for the double coin power ups to gain revenue.
From now on (version 1.1h) coin boosts are no longer consumed when you have bad luck at the start, as long as you have one, you get the boost for free.
This video's strategy for the hard badge worked for me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LiCQZLSH0VE
Here are some additional tips that helped me:
1.Hold the left to get the front of your car up to hit the zombies higher (not the entire time you don't want a continual wheelie).
2. If you don't make it to the crates on the second run restart you likely wont have enough money.
3.Save your entire boost for the last push up the third part of the last hill before the crates on the last run and hold left key to get more air.
The candy drill is not that great. After all the grinding to get the badge the candy drill should be ridiculously powerful to give a payoff for all that grinding. It isn't like most people are going to keep playing much beyond getting the candy drill anyways.
Good concept and it is fun, but the controls need some attention. They seem to be a little unresponsive and or inconsistent. If i tap a directional key briefly repeatedly every half second or so it does not always result in the same movement. I should get the same reaction from the character every time I hit that input right when I hit that input. Other than that it is a good game.
To Kongregate: I hope you were at least payed well to sell out your users and integrity. To fellow Users: Please don't spend any real money on these types of "games". The people that spend real money are the reason we get "games" like this instead of good games.
Step 1: Grind to 4000 power without giving the developer a cent.
Step 2: Remove everyone but your main hero from your party in the tactics tab to assist others with easy wins against you so they can get to 4000 points themselves more easily.
Step 3: Never open this horrible cash grab game again.
In response to those asking how to beat musical stage 4 to get the bell (and likely the people that down voted my earlier comment explaining how to get the bell). I passed it with 2 upgrades in top speed and 2 in boost. Neither upgrade likely helped me much. Just remember to jump (space bar) at the top of the ramps to clear the pianos. It took me a few tries to get the jump timing correct but not that difficult. You can unlock other stages but Musical is the fastest to unlock.
Easy Badge:
Beat stage 1 adventure (the first race) in 5th place or better.
Perform 3 forward rolls during stage 1 of Epic Costume (second race).
Complete stage 4 of Musical (the one that looks like a stage). This unlocks bell
Play another race after getting bell to register achievement.
This is what is wrong with the gaming world today today, but I can't really blame the developer. It is the people that pay them real money for this kind of horrible game that causes the developers to make this kind of cash grab #%$! As long as people keep giving them money the world of gaming will continue to decline.
I find the random amounts of money more problematic in getting the hard badge than the controls. The first time I played I got $2000 the first day other times $1400. Even with only buying artillery I come up about $200 short.
For those having issues loading (it loads the developers logos but then goes to a gray screen with a faint grid and stays there) my issue seems to have been with the network I was on. When I connected to a new network with the same computer I was able to properly load the game. Other games worked normally on the network that this game would not load properly.
Game won't load. It shows the game devlopers credits then goes to a dark gray screen with a faint grid. Never goes beyond this. Happens in Firefox and Internet Explorer. Several others have commented on this but no apparent solution.
"what, no achievement (in-game or otherwise) for a perfect run?" - AtemAndrew
AtemAndrew I am sure if you contact the developer and offer a micro-transaction for it they will give you that achievement.
Think I can get the magnet a bit stronger. Going to work on it a bit tonight. Thanks for the suggestions!
