After five years, I finally beat the 5-in-a-row daily challenge. I don't know why I persevered so much, but I just kept going cuz I wanted to see that "5" light up. Even with all the exploits, like getting Charm of Blinking ASAP, still made me struggle when it wasn't available. I feel relieved and satisfied. phew.
It's amazing to play this game and its sequel back-to-back. Honestly I don't mind too much that this game is so much more random, but the "miss" mechanic is so annoying. You'll have an awesome run going with a high-level character, making calculated or total risk-taking moves. But since you missed one tile ahead and the monster didn't, you died. So glad this wasn't in the sequel.
After two years of playing on and off, I finally played through and beat it. Then I immediately beat it again. Then I immediately beat it again WHILE clearing every single area. It goes by so fast that I have no time to ever figure out what I want, and I love it.
