Theme Elevator has some quirks, but the gameplay is fun, the game is cleanly executed AND it's nice to see someone break out of the usual Kongregate routine. 5/5
This is a prime example of how games and electronic media can be used to make poweful social and artistic statements. Next time someone tries to give you the "Momfg! Gamers are teh bad 4s us!" routine, show him this game.
While the graphics, music, and overall atmosphere are quite nice, the üroblem here is that the game's "story" and gameplay are totally segregated, making everything you "accomplish" totally meaningless. It's a (not very challenging) difference game, and that, sadly, is all there is.
Maybe I'm missing sth, but what is the point of the nuke? If you detonate, you get like, what? 5k feet out of the blast. That's about half the cash you paid for the damn thin. Whopee!
This game is pretty tedious and bland and repetitive. For some reason, I enjoy that type of game. Hm. BUT this motherf***er hogs ressources like crazy! My Laptop is old and slow, but there's exactly ZERO reason a game like this should stutter and freeze like it does!
Booyah! 6224m. Should do it for now! Man, I LOVE this game! Not just the pure, basic thrill of the running and jumping, but the atmosphere, the dread of solitude, the imminent threat. It's amazing how, with just a bit of background art, the game creates an engaging and interesting setting just by implication. Instant classic, 7/5, at least!
