I have never seen pacing done so well. The fast tempo is set from the start and the dialogue boxes flash at the perfect speed to get the point across and not bore the players. Great job.
TECHNIQUE:
I found it helped a lot to enlarge it by going into cinematic mode and stare at the top of the screen to watch for empty patches. Your peripheral vision is likely good enough to pick up on the moving side bars mid game (they are relatively slow). It's the vertical bars which will get you. Hope this helps.
This game was surprisingly emotional for me. So much so that after my first death, it took me nearly an hour to muster up the strength to play it again.
The artwork was atrocious to say the least. The women were disproportional. The dwarf was drawn as if the artist was lazy. In each frame the character's proportions shifted to an astounding degree and I feel a few were poorly traced Disney scenes. The dialogue was written as if this were the first work of fiction written by a 13 year old girl who wants to be emo and had recently spent half of her allowance on a thesaurus. While the idea of a hand drawn looking game is interesting in concept but in application it failed. The story had some potential, the massive blocks of text to get to any action drained away the potential energy as it breaks every rule in game making I know. The music sounding like a lullaby DOESNT HELP. With better art, writing, and music there could have been a game worthy of people's time. This is not. I am astounded that it received the rating it has. One does not simply play a game for it being deep up the ass. There has to be a game. Or else it's just sodomy.
This was not a game but an interactive list. I came into it with the wrong intention but I also lost interest around #104, but I clicked as fast as I could for about 10min to find that it was over 1000 statements long. So now I have a few questions for you "How long did it take you to compile this list?" and "Why?"
Pizza has never been so much fun. I have yet to see anything like it on Kongregate and I really have nothing to complain about this game. Be it the the soundtrack (which rings in your head, but not bad enough that you are sining it all day), the eye friendly graphics, or the addicting game play that could cause you to play for hours without wondering "why is it that I am making all of these pizzas. And why does that old guy like anchovies so much that he orders that same freaking pizza every single day?"
