I can understand your frustration with not being able to play a game you want to play. If you are on a wireless network, you can improve your ping in many cases by moving to a wired connection instead. Otherwise, you just have to be close to a server. You are entitled to your opinion, but games with high ratings are able to attract more players naturally by being higher in the list, more players means we can have more servers and place them closer to everyone so that everyone's experience improves.
