So if so many people have a problem with the limited play, how about everyone gives it a 1/5 until the devs (If they actually care enough) do something about it?
Just a thought but since bullets can be crafted, how about if you use a gun you have a chance to loot bullet cases after a battle, kinda of like how you can get arrows back if you use the crossbow.

There are multiple ways, but mainly having a bladed weapon (sword, spear, etc.) and some skill such as Shield Bash, Combo 2x, Power Attack, etc. Also the lower the enemy current health (ex:10/124) the more likely you are to cut a limb, decapitate, or disembowel. Hope this helps.

Very simple solution my friend, stop raiding for a bit, loot hospitals for a while, then when you have tons of medical supplies you can get back to raiding.
In regards to the Splitter bug
If you wait long enough then they will move again and your towers will destroy them. You do not have to restart to the wave or any of that.

In the subway, enter the subway car next to the dead guys body, fight your way through it, and it will led you to a hallway type area. Go to the end of the hallway and the platform will have the exit option, take it and the Stadium should be unlocked. Hope this helps.
