Level one: Right click, move mouse to target, left click. Before you upload any game, please make sure to disable interface methods that allow such blatant cheating. With them in place, you don't exactly have a game. It is like playing poker with cards with faces on both sides.
Works better when its the full version, the one that bigfish games are selling as a download and install piece of software. Other than having it converted to flash, the missing tutorial, and the limited levels which are presumably a bug in the conversion process, its identical to a commercial game on the market for $6.99 now - right down to the sound and graphics. Suspicious much?
"This game requires great multitasking, but is a simple game to start, and hard to master."
Soo, how come I built half a dozen towers, upgraded them, then left the game to do its own thing, and still won?
Now this was fun. A lovely top-down tape on a skydiving game, very lavishly animated, and the way the clouds grow larger as you pas them ,and then the details grow on the land as you approach is just beautiful. Very enjoyable, and I particularly love how the sponsor of the game is a cancer charity, who give you the option to donate your high score to them at the end.
I love the concept. Bright crisp shapes, very colourful and appealing, definite upbeat trend to it. Interface is simple and intuitive. I also like how it does not matter how many get by you so long as you keep collecting shapes. Allows the player to set their own difficulty level by swooping into tighter groups.
None of the timing or excitement of the original space invaders. Let alone any of the thousands of clones since then. If you are going to make a game, please study the prior art.
"Click to PL"? Please ensure you spell check especially important words like 'play' before submitting. Also, the only way to die is to eat yourself? Could do with more challenges. Walls maybe.
For some reason the mouse interface lags and stutters. You might like to think about recoding that. Hotspots tend to be to the top left of the text, and it is not really intuitive locating them. The story could use a lot of work, but if you made it longer you would have a nice "choose your own adventure" game.
You have the basics of a game down to a tee. If this is how you are starting out, you certainly will have the capability to do it professionally once you have mastered 'polish'.
I find it impressive that just 15 years after it first came out in a form which often required memory reconfigurations in DOS to get the game to work, using the entire resources of the computer to do so, we have reached the stage where it is playable in its entirety in a flash script window, whilst your computer multitasks the gods themselves know how many other programs. At the same time of course, this gives all the little ones who missed Doom in its heyday, the chance to see where first person shooters came from. This, more than Wolfenstein, changed everything in the games industry, and gave us first person perspective 3D as mainstream.
Sounds suspiciously like they have stolen the sound effects from GTA 3. For that matter, the vehicle and street textures seem to have been lifted form there wholesale as well.
I wondered why FreeOnlineGasmes produced so much tripe, util I looked at their website - this game prompted that. They are missing game coders, website deveopment, graphic artists, a business manager and a project manager. In short, it is one person desperately trying to look like a prolific software house. Produce less, but raise the quality of each product, and you will improve your bottom line.
No instructions, end target disappears periodically - you can jump right through it! For all the attention to graphics, it feels like the game was forgotten from the development plan.
