So. This is an OK game, but I see 3 really big problems with it. In order of importance (to me), from least important to most: The game is too slow, especially once you run out of cards. It should run automatically once that happens. It's extremely difficult if not impossible to get all of your side's cards, I think partially because there's no way to go back to the first set of levels once you reach the second. Lastly, and most importantly, this is full of stolen artwork. Absolutely full of it. For this reason I'm reporting it.
Played it and finished most of it (99% complete) on newgrounds. Needs a sequel with things like support for multiple specimens and a more satisfying conclusion.
Two problems:
Problem 1) The scout begins ridiculously weak - it's basically impossible to take on an enemy just 1 level above you.
Problem 2) As mentioned by sluggy108, the shaman cannot beat the end boss.
Also, is the scout supposed to regenerate energy only every other round?
The breadth of the works referenced in this game is absolutely terrific. I especially appreciated the mention of Celephaïs, as Lovecraft's Dreamlands work is some of my favorite weird fiction.
Ok - I beat the boss - here's a tip for anyone who's having trouble with it. At first I thought you had to bounce its bombs back at it with quills, but if you're glowing, they'll also get reflected back at the boss.
Anyway.... anyone have any suggestions on how to get past the temple entrance? I'm stuck. =(
