For people who suggest only high dmg towers... you aren't good.
1) Start with a few key placed towers designed to get most possible hits.
2) upgrade 2 evenly to lvl 6 and get a slow to lvl 3
3) Add different lvl 5's and a few lvl 6's - focus on a few money steal early
instant death - place several near the beginning and some in the middle where they get great number of hits (like loops) give these either +% or heart
- life steal (put some later on... more if your leaking)
- bomb - place some near your dmg and some near 3/4.
- teleport near your dmg ones near the end and wherever
- confuse - right after high dmg towers or tele/bomb/death towers so your towers get a 2nd shot
If you put your towers near the beginning then you can hit send next sooner and get more points.
So i finally quit with about 1.1 billion points 13.5 M cash and wave 302... I dont think I could have ever lost.

Yeah... i want to add more ideas for unlimited
a) reduce time between waves by 1 second after 100 so that eventually enemies are continuous
b) make enemies progressively faster
c) increase the number of gem immunities to 2 or 3 from 1 and eliminate the weakness.
I'm at about wave 250 with 680 Million points.... I seriously walked away for half and hour and not a scratch.
Here are my suggestions for unlimited.
1) After wave 90 or so ramp up HP quicker.
3) increase the number of immunities per item, I should be seeing several completely immune by 200 seriously
4) Have very expensive lvl 7 and lvl 8 upgrade... i have 8M cash and couldn't spend it if i wanted to
5) Increase the dmg progressively to 125 9instant death) uncap it from 9
I probably could leave this all night and the first thing to go will be my cpu not my mushrooms.
Game is quite a challenge at higher lvl's and requires you to use lots of different mushrooms... down side is that lvls take sooooo much time... needs faster enemies
The major flaw is that instant kill has no monster immune. So you load up the front with instant kill shrooms which are cheap(ish) and dominate. Making 1 or 2 monsters immune would up the difficulty a bit.
No way of knowing HP, no way of knowing weaknesses, no way of seeing next wave or knowing how many remain, screw bug, lame towers... all add up to crappy game
