I liked having their benefit balanced by requiring a turn to use them. Increased the depth of strategy imo, but I might be convinced otherwise for the sequel...
It would be really cool if there was some setting that lets you see exactly where you can build towers- on some levels it's not obvious what's solid ground and what isnt.
