I don't know if there's something I'm missing, but I really feel like metal is underutilized in the game and should be come more useful at some point in the updates.
Found something interesting. I know that offline mode works, it did just earlier today for me. The time I loaded the game this time it did not. What was different: I had to stop the page loading and reload the page just as the game was starting to load due to a problem on my end. This apparently didn't give the game time to adjust the money earned but made it think when I signed back in that I had only been offline for a few seconds since last my money had changed. Not a complaint, just a comment.
You know, take this game, add a sell feature, supply and demand statistic and cost for upkeep for each purchase, you could put out AdVenture Capitalist: The Game (to play while you're waiting for you Angel Investors in AdVenture Capitalist stack up). OK, the title may need a little work, but I think it would be a fun sequel, spin-off, whatever you would call it..
The devs won't see this because of the weekend, but... I want that moon station to be used to take over the world! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Because, of course, the dream of any true capitalist is to rule the world and then begin taking over the universe.
I would like to see the ability to upgrade the ads. Things like targeted advertising, annoyingly persistent, tricky to close, things like that which make people more likely to (or have to) click on the ad, getting your site more revenue.
With the high price of the Angel sacrifices, my current rule of thumb is to make my angel investors double in number before doing another restart, which slows down my short term progress, but if the sacrifices don't lower the requirements for getting new investors, well, what do you guys think of this strategy?
There's a bug where your offline income doesn't come up right? Well, you did say you wanted a way to reward being online... I'm kidding, of course. Good luck on making a fix.
I was one of the ones that wanted to support these devs. But before I put some Kong coin down, I need to ask: After a reset, do the multiplier/gold suit stay active or do you have to buy them again?
For all the people that keep asking: Yes, it's normal for the newspaper to start being the most expensive thing on the page for almost the least reward. This is due to the formula of advancement. In the late game, this is an important thing to consider. It was intentional and is easy to figure out if you put the numbers on paper. The devs. have hinted that this might change in the next update, though.
I think the concept is good. I'm a fan of other idle games, but the idea of almost a story that this guy goes through is great. But the game... It feels like it needs a complete overhaul. Balancing issues, button changes, almost everything but the concept needs work. This is in no means meant to be discouraging as this (or its potential sequel) has the chance to be the best idle game made to date if done right. But this one, how it is, just isn't worth it.
Sara K, one of the commentators to get theirs into the Best Comments suggested buying the devs a cup of coffee. That made me wonder, is there a website or anything where we can donate to you guys at HyperHippoGames?
I really expected when my notoriety got too high to just get murdered by my advisory, since that seems to be how the past several positions have been filled.
I was wondering how others feel about this: After I buy all the upgrades, I kind of feel like there's not much left to do but leave and wait to reset with more angel investors. What about if after you bought the last of the sets of upgrades, they become available (in some fashion or another) with a similar price raise as buying more businesses? That way you could keep upgrading in higher tiers while it still having to be a sacrifice since they would have the same bonus to an ever more expensive payout? I hope I worded that so it's understood.
"Oh dang, I forgot to put the sauce on. Well, I haven't sent it out yet... But I did get the ticket placer ready... I better throw it all away and start over!"
It's not a lie but it's a very small cake ;)
