Only complaint is that there is no consequences whatsoever for just running back to your fort and hiding every wave, and running out and repairing your balloon when they're gone.
Paratroopers rock. 12 points for 4 men= 3 points per man which is the same as a normal soldier, but paratroopers usually come with a free weapon (not a springfield) and usually have better rifle than normal soldiers... the ONLY disadvantage is they take damage if they come down on a tree but if you need to fill spots in a trench quick and have poitns to spare they absolutely rock
RIP U. McCoy, paratrooper extrodinare, landed with 72 rifle skill, ended up with 168 and a BAR, slaughtered whole waves in a second all by himself, killed by the same arty round that killed my bunker, my officer, sig and both of my 100xp gunners.... the rest of my squad ran for it
RIP M. Sanchez, 100xp Paratrooper with a BAR and 121 Rifle skill... held off the germans all by himself for about 7 waves until they killed him with one bullet dispite the fact that he had Heroism on... you shall be missed (seriously, how the hell did they do 230 damage in one shot?)
spam paratroopers for all they're worth, individually they cost as much as normal soldiers, have slightly better rifle (on average) and come with upgraded guns (usually)
If you want to deal with burning soldiers running into your own men, if you pause the game with the spacebar for some reason the burning soldiers keep burning out and die while the game is paused (for me at least)
Seriously, I know that this game is very realistic in most respects, but if I was holding a position in WWII I would somehow see fit to NOT throw grenades into my friends trenches
Not sure if this glitch will work for anyone else, but if you want to deal with that nasty habit of flaming enemies running into your own troops, just pause the game and they will burn out while the game is paused... makes flamers about ten times as effective DOES NOT WORK ON TREES
