well, then... apparently the world is smaller than brasil. that's the only logical explanation i can think of since i flew around the wold two and a half times (in space) and still didn't get out of brasil.

the masses do matter, but the distance matters much more (GmM/r^2)
therefore, if the ball's distance from the small planet is 2/3 times the distance from the large planet it will still be drawn to the small planet.
what you're missing about stars is that the reason why they have a much larger pull than regular planets IS the mass difference.
