After thinking things through. Start was fun, then i had to gather a lot of meat from the ork with a drop chance of never... But at least i could idle that over a couple of days. Now i have to manually restart the lostlorn forest for many hours, if not days, to make any progression at all. And this is just the very start of the game, where things are supposed to be easy. So that implies to me that if i get past this it will only get worse, and i will probably need weeks of clicking the same button over and over again just for a single line of text.. Peace out, i'm gonna go play a game instead of whatever this has become.
After manually grinding the forest for half an hour i finally got the beetle. Still need to level it up a lot since it's weaker than all my other stuff, but it has a tiny bit more potential than the weakest of the ones i already have.. This is slightly more stupid than those 4.500 orcs i had to kill to make the bully happy, at least it was possible to idle those over a couple days.
So to get out of the starting town i need to get through lostlorn forest, which is absolutely impossible as i can't even get halfway. And i have done everything there is to do, and everything is maxed out.. Only way to become stronger is to summon lesser devils til the hero can solo it in about a years time... What?
so at lvl 20 and i'm guessing halfway trough the game... It's a good beta version of a game. Still a lot of bugs and incredibly unbalanced, but a good base to build on. Some more development and it will be ready to post on such websites such as kongregate.
The consept in itself is cool, but the gameplay.. This demo looks like 15 minutes into your first game, not real effort put into the RPG maker by someone who knows how it works.
Luck based enemies.. Starts out fine but after a while become permanently immune to all forms of damage. Never put those in the game before the party gets some buf/debuf abilities of their own or else this might happen.
only the upgrades damage and auto attack work, when the upgrades say "increased attack speed, crit chance, crit damage" and so on nothing changes. This might be why it scales so bad later in the game as you dont get what you spend the precious gold on.
I have the problem that my ships will just circle one enemy, never being able to fire at it. Clicking somewhere to make them move and quit the looping does nothing as they become obsessed with that one enemy. I reccomend that the movement AI deactivates at mouseclick and does not reactivate utill they complete the "move" order.
Hi Wereclaw, the problem with that is that your fighters will not engage when you send them straight towards the enemy, which I assume most players do. Your timing would have to be very precise to pull it off then.
If your ships circle an enemy and you click them somewhere else in space they will ignore everything for about 1,5 seconds. If after that time they come into contact with another (or the same enemy) they will try killing it again. What you can do is either let another hangar help you out, lure the enemy towards other fighters or just place the fighters in the opposite place from where they are now (try to make them do a 180 turn), so that they ignore the enemy and once they are good to fight again they are already facing straight against the enemy. Hope this helps you somehow :)
How do you attack? At first there was an auto attack, but as i went on it took longer and loger before they attacked! Just halfway trough the second floor i died even before i attacked o.o
Attack is automatic after you click on an enemy. It sounds like your system got lagged by something. The game is quite demanding in the big levels, so if your machine is a little old (or Flash player is just slower on it) you might need to shut down other web-pages or apps to play smoothly.
lvl 15-20: assasinating apes and tigers.. Should realy be somthing more to do here... Guess most people quit when they realize it's a 30 minutes of grinding before the game continues..
on windows ?
