Average tower defense game. While it's fun, this game steals all of its ideas from Protector and Cursed Treasure, and offers nothing original other than art in the introduction. All tower types have the same special abilities unlocked in different orders, so the only thing motivating you to build different types of towers is the cost and the width of the path (making need longer or shorter range units). Despite the developer's intended emphasis on the champion, the champion is only necessary for spotting stealthed units before you can upgrade your ranger. It steals experience from other units, so it's really best placed on clean-up at the end of the path.

Good game, overall. The mapping items are useless since you have to kill and find everything to finish a dungeon, and the battles are frustratingly slow. A way to turn off the animation would make this game much more fun.

This game is not rated as highly as the other protector games. My guess is that this is because it's hard to get into. The early levels are extremely difficult, while the later levels, when you have many more weapon/armor options, are easier. The game doesn't really become fun until you've gotten to the mainland, which can take a few hours of play.

For "spishity splashity," ignore the advice of focusing on splash damage. The fire wizards just do too little damage. Instead, put your skill points into reduced unit cost, and get as many archers and warriors as possible, positioned so they cover as much of the path as possible. If you're lucky enough to get a splash item, give it to a warrior with that smunching mace. Focus on harvesting when possible, and then stick mages (with smunch mainly) in the centers of the squares. Actually, the tons of archers/warriors strategy works for most levels. I rarely bother with wizards anymore.

This game is okay, but it's very poorly balanced. The knockback and 8-way towers scale with upgrades, while many of the other tower upgrades are pointless. The standard one-shot tower (norton) is worth it until level 2. The game is also incredibly easy. The first strategy I tried worked without a single leak. The next strategy (on medium) did it again, without even using more than one corner. I feel like I could win this game with any two tower types you pick for me, and ignore the rest.

Boring game. I finished a couple levels easily, then played endless mode until level 46, when the game died. I filled the entire screen with earthworks and greenjackets because I felt like it, and I was getting more than 10,000 gold a round. As the English, cannons seem useless -- greenjackets are so much better, and you can fit four of them in the place of one cannon.

Too much grinding, not enough strategy. You can win the game by clumping your heroes together, maxing the speed, and doing the level over and over without looking at the screen. I like the idea of the teleport powers, but they weaken your hero (only two skills allowed, and that's one of them), are hard to use in the middle of a fight, and aren't really worth it when you can get more experience faster by looking away from your monitor and letting the heroes die a few times. Suggested improvements: - Monsters give less experience if they've been through the end-gate. This will encourage players to kill them early. - Have a third available skill, which can only be used for "active" skills like teleport. - Make it easier to level up. The game's not too long, but the grinding makes it _feel_ too long.

The bouncing menus are REALLY annoying. Arrows in the monster editor only work about 1/3 of the time. Importing a map to edit it always makes a mess of the map, so it can't be re-exported. This is an incredibly buggy editor.

Fun, but very easy. Just focus on two or three stats and let the rest be negative. I did speed, reproduction and strength. Speed is the unbeatable stat, since the faster you colonize, the more powerful you are.

Wow. Lost all my lives on level 64 easy on track 4. One super-monkey (range only), four missiles facing at "last," one dart (just for fun), two beacons, and 50-60 tack shooters, all maxed. I didn't need any disposables until level 59 or so. Then I used pineapples when there were 4 or more MOABs at once. A mess of stray yellows killed me -- I couldn't place spikes fast enough.
