Since the recent changes the end game is slightly altered. Now that there is a cap of +15 upgrades on items stacking luck is much less viable, and the name of the game is to equip a sword and tome, and try to achieve 95% counter attack chance. I also use Fireball 1 (also with a 95% cast chance) as my attack to stack the burn onto enemies, so my equipment is primarily +int focused.
The best pet right now is one with ice spear & meditation, as it can stun lock the enemy a little while restoring your mana (the fastest way to kill top end monsters is certainly to stack burns on them, so even with a ton of mana, you need meditation from your pet to keep casting Fireball 1)
In order to win you need to stack luck. After about a day of playing you should be in the 1000-1600 enemy cp range, with maxed blacksmithing, so start lucking for rings/necklaces with +luck. Get your luck as high as possible. Eventually you will advance to where you are finding +50-75 luck items, take these, and you will hit the tipping point where you can get maxed equipment without breaking it. Max out all your equips and go to ??? with counter attack, smash, and a melee weapon. Try and get your int high enough where you have a 100% chance to CA, and congrats, you've won.
It would be nice to be able to filter the items you find more, like if I only want rings and necklaces, or only items with +luck as an affix, that should be an option
