The entire point for badges is for promotion of a certain game, an incentive that will make people play it more and therefore the ads on that page will be more expensive.
The entire badge/point system is to keep players coming back to this specific site, to keep you playing games so that the said company makes more money.
They're not going to waste money on the salaries of the people who have to make badges for a game they will never play.
and to jb154, they will almost always put badges on anything with a religious-related word in the title, as it will come up more on search, meaning more players, meaning more traffic on that page, meaning more money from ads.
