To get medium badge, just stack all units on middle column to start with and wipe it out quickly, then stack them all on next to wipe out. Put all units in same spot and rush them across line for victory. Use all the bombs to slow defend the hole you leave but stacking all of your units. I got medium in 15 minutes this way.
Great game, challenging and interesting gravity puzzler. The Music is also good and really fits the theme. One Major bug: If you click a black hole after clicking play, it still attracts the spaceman but you can drag it all over the level without setting it in a permanent position. This means on levels with black holes, you can literally win with a single black hole.
Can someone give me an additional hint on "learn to be patient"? Spent like 30 mins on this level trying various things including staying still in various manners, no luck so far.
Hi! It seems that you're experiencing a bug here, as you're doing the right thing but it shouldn't take that long. I'm very sorry about it, this issue never happened during the beta-testing period. Have you tried to deactivate Chrome's automatic cookie filter for this webpage, by using the option on the right end of the web address bar, and then reload the page? Otherwise, the game should work fine in other browsers that don't have that automatic filter function, such as Firefox or Safari if you play on a Mac.
Unique, interesting, builds on itself. Pretty sweet puzzle game. 5/5. Could you please add WADS controls? (A&D work but not W&S) It makes more sense to have WADS with J/K for switch. Arrows plus J/K are a little awkward. Can't wait for more levels, perhaps with pennies?
Worked on another computer in chrome fyi. It is rather short and difficult. Took me a while to realize I could double jump. If you expand out the level, make the monster a little more (but not too much more) predictable with more interesting levels could be good.
Hmm thats weird.. It runs fine on my PC with Chrome and FireFox. However, I couldn't get it to work in Edge and IE. Can you try from a different machine using Chrome or Firefox and see if it works or not?
Yeah I think I'm too accustomed to the difficulty to accurately know how hard a level is. Level 4 was meant to teach the diagonal mechanic, but I agree that it is also very unforgiving. I'll try to add an update to create a more steady progression.
Similar to prior installments, better than most junk on here. That said, the inkboard controls are incredibly unintuitive and frustrating - they need to be fixed.
Just tap toward the direction you want to go. It definitely feels better on a controller, but I don’t think there’s a better way to do it on keyboard. Do you have any suggestions?
I really enjoy the music, very relaxing. Game is challenging but fun. There are some bugs - when you use the back button a lot (as opposed to restart). But doesn't impede level completion. Overall I really like it.
So far have beat 20+ final floors in a row via glitch. Did it w 4 hearts, 5 shields, 5 cantrips and 2 splash. In the final level you want to play as safe (slow) as possible unlike prior levels. Priority #1 is knock out the Blight Matron as they will blight the whole board making no where safe. Never take a kill if you don't have a clear cut path to no damage escape, much better to spend a few turns running away.
Good concepts, I had fun playing. The controls should be tightened up by making the hit boxes slightly less exacting. Would prefer challenging levels like 15 that require thinking ahead and making correct decisions rather than pinpoint accuracy on jumps that make levels take longer without being more difficult
Will add full music credits in the next major update, but in the meantime, I got the music from the Youtube Audio Library available here: youtube.com/audiolibrary/music
My best time is 8:41. Only attempt super speed runs w firemage - spread talent points amongst fire mastery, fire ball and focus only (rarely sprint if you get it). You rely on fireball to kill enemies. Don't explore. If you see the stairs, go down. If you see a pit, jump in it right away. Find a wishing well/scroll of summoning if possible - Goal is to get 3 scrolls of blink or 3 of scrolls of blink/blink charm/sprint which allow you to completely bypass all enemies in the easier of the two vaults of yendor(lvl16).
I know the game is literally named vexation, so if the intent is to be annoying, then you certainly achieved that goal. In terms of playability, if you want to have a "do it perfect or start over type" of platformer, then the game also needs to be perfect. Unfortunately, the controls are just not crisp enough, and there are a number of times when you die for no reason. For example you would think being in a cannon is safe until you fire your character, but no, I got kill by a buzzsaw. That literally makes you want to give up on the game. Likewise in regards to dying from falls randomly and other issues. Truly an annoying game. Still fun but not enough to make you want to invest the hours it takes to finish it. Could be better with crisper controls especially buffering the jump a little. Also perhaps reducing the accuracy of the lasers a touch.
Wow I finally did 44 mins w Warrior. It took about 15 tries I would say. Got +5 strength gloves and a flaming sword. Went straight down no side routes. And the key was a wishing well on level 16, I went for a wand, and got a +5 wand of blades which was instant win as it has 10 casts and produces 7 blades each time which gave me tons of cover to run straight for the goblet
Pretty challenging and fun. Right combo of thinking, trial and error and timing. Only complaint is level 15 bug where you can go outside of the level into a dark gray screen and have to restart. Basically if you take a route you aren't supposed to, you can hit multiple down arrows until you go off screen.
Use keyboard, not mouse, to start game For the couple people saying the game doesn't work in their browser, it does, you just can't click anything, use space and wads.
Thanks for the feedback! I fixed the bug.
