Not having autosave really blows, especially when there is nothing telling you how to save manually either. I've beaten the third level twice and each time it shows the same thing that tallies up the score on every level except there is no continue button and no numbers, just a display of what I did to the island during the level over and again. Then refreshed to see if it helped and again there was no save file to load. The second time I said screw it and rage quit.
Dude. You could stretch this series out and it would still be good. You could make yearly or bi yearly installments to the series. I love all the games I found by playing this and I played this well after I got the achievements for it including the badges. You can also try using cult favorite games. Some games are drowned out by the newer games that take the front page and slip into obscurity despite being great in and of themselves. Case in point: The first Castle Wars.
Indeed, I intend so. Currently I'm giving final adjustmants to my new game, turn-based strategy, and later I'll return to the sequel of this quiz. And, yes, Castle Wars are great!
Really needs some fine tuning in a few areas. Being able to quit a fight might end up being abused by people who don't like the blocks they started with so that is out. One thing that could be added is a "fast fighting" option that skips the attack animations all together as they get tedious to watch and even when the quality is set to low they are still pretty long lasting. And once I've seen all of an enemy's attack animations, they get boring quickly. Some people like fast paced action like myself, but others like that kind of thing, so that's why it should be an option and not a mandatory play feature.
I have but one suggestion, and this suggestion is the only one I have to make cause a lot of the others I thought of have already been made, but you should really allow people to use WASD keys for movement as well. I'm not just speaking out of my love for WASD movement, it also has to do with two things: 1. Some people (like me) have keyboards where the up and down arrows are half the size of regular keys, making those movements awkward. 2. Using arrow keys only, even if they are awkward, causes severe strain on the hand. Being able to switch which hand you use will allow people to play longer. If your right hand has begun to hurt and you've tried using your left for the arrow keys, you'll know what I'm talking about.
I think a good addition would be to add a menu where you can read up on the game. You know, like a bigger tutorial type thing that tells you what each of the stats do in case you forget after a while, how your happiness works, how to get sponsors, etc. instead of just having the same information repeated in between games at random intervals. I think it would save some frustration of people wondering why they aren't attracting more sponsors until they randomly get the message telling them it is because their lifestyle score isn't high enough.
One thing I found wrong in this game, well more of an inconvenience, is that the talents are ordered randomly. This leads to a lot of excess effort when looking for how to acquire talents. Maybe you could group them by how they are obtained i.e. all acquired from consumables in one group and all gained from quests in another.
Could someone help me? I just finished all levels of all the tribe campaigns and I've unlocked all the cards except for the last one which I believe is curse. Anyone know how to unlock it?
Hard mode is somewhat overpowered. For instance the southwestern most territory appears harmless at first glance, and the difference between the sizes of both castles and both walls seems fair enough. Now we look at the resources, The enemy has a little over twice as many bricks, 4 times as many weapons, and 10 times as many crystals as you do. This means they can use curse, dragon, sacrificing, and other powerful cards and completely bastardize all you have on the first turn thus dooming you.
Arrows would be good but I think that the regeneration rate for health should increase as you level. It is fine with 5 hp every minute 30 seconds or so when you don't have a very high max hp, but I have to find a way to kill time when my level 20 character with very high hp is down to 30 since it takes forever. Maybe regen rate could level every 5 levels or so?
Needs an option to completely mute the music. The slider only goes down to about 1/10th of the bar. The music is low but I can still hear it and it bugs me.
I wouldn't trust the Speedy Gonzales wheel by jpearleverett as it says that it can go 500 px/s . When I tried to see it do that it got to about 350 then the top half snapped apart and moved to the bottom now it started at about 50 and is decreasing speed and currently at 9.
