This seems to be a rather awesome game, yet I have to rate it max 3/5, almost 2/5. Why? Pretty much because got all the right numbers but they are kind of horrible balanced. As a game designer and gamer I'm like "Wtf?" after I kill some bosslike (?) hound in zone one encounter 33 enemies blocking my path at the graveyard. The enemies aren't hard to defeat, I just have to press play and turn on auto to win. But I will have to spend 1165 energy to beat them, which means 29 hours of energy reload if you don't count level up refills. For me that is a big punch in the face from the developers, like you don't want the game to be played. As a gamer it doesn't give me anything just waiting to progress, not because I'm failing in the game but because the game is holding me back with hordes of pointless battles. This is pretty much the random-encounter effect, something that is mostly added to prolong game time but most of the time only annoy the players.
Went through almost whole the game only using mounted archers, no spells and on hard difficulty. Suddenly I start losing, but now I was already bored and only reason I continued this far was to see if I could beat the game with one move tactic. I finished the last 4-5 levels on easy with same "tactic". Horrible controls and difficulty curve, which is tightly connected to the bad balance in the game. Mostly everything but the gameplay was great, even if "premium content" is a big turn-off for me.
Was sort of fun, but way too easy to the extent that it didn't feel like I was playing a game. I like to be challenged at least so much that you once lose and have to rethink your strategies. And no; I don't wanna play the game all over at super hard mode :p.
Can someone explain to me why all the games of this type has a no-money-back policy on upgrades :S? Even if the prices are exponential it still encourages the player to save resources instead of upgrading. I believe that buying upgrade 5 should cost as much as upgrading 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 instead of costing maybe twice as much to upgrade separately...
I could win the third gladiator division twice, making the chat start over to first division again when I got the cut scene with the emperor the second time.
Maybe it's just me who have a too low mouse sensitivity, but these curves are just not working. Your speed is too high compared to how slow you change direction, so I would have to move the mouse almost several centimeters to take a curve. Lets say two-three up-curves come in a row I will be outside my mousepad :S. Other than that I like the game =).
I think game got bugged first time I played, there was a background sound going "bbzzzzzooom.... bbbzzzzzoooooom..." over and over until I reloaded the page :S.
I liked the game, but it was just too easy. I didn't fail once and got almost 17 minute on survival on first try. I would have rated +1 more if I felt like there was ever a challenge :P.
C'mon... a game like this that doesn't save progress? I thought it was a joke at first. Having 191 achievements, trying to quit to see if it was the break achievement. Coming back, noticing I have to start over to get 200 achievements, even if I got > 200 in the game just not at the same time. From 4/5 to 2/5 in my book because of this great flaw.
C'mon... did you had to ruin a good game by trolling it with "bonus mode"? It's just tedious to have to go through all levels again that you already completed... twice. I wont play it which which makes feel like I never completed the game, more or less ruining the experience :S. Other than that it was a good game.
thanks. we've now fixed this
