2/5 for the game itself. Good overall, but needs polish.
3/5 when the UI better differentiates the icons. I don't know how many times I clicked a clue only to figure out there was only one of the two left. And one selected icon in a large group blends in too well, so I forget that I have already chosen one.
4/5 when the clues are more obvious. I end up clicking and unclicking the button to see them flash because the UI is so busy. Greying out the other icons or making the game less colorful in general would make the game much more playable.
Good stuff otherwise.
Sniper mission is horrible. Love the concept, hate the execution. Either give us control of the view, make the player ai smarter (he never ONCE used the medkit), or make the shots more forgiving. Leg shots didn't count, head-shots were nonexistent. Took me ten tries to pass it, mostly because my 10+ kills weren't enough to counteract all the damn suicides!
The lightning weapon works differently between the two hands. In the left, it fires straight and seems to hit way more often. In the right, it arcs below and only shows damage hitting 1/5 of the time it seems. If your lightning isn't working well, switch hands!
Great idea but I stopped at 13. 2 Stars. If we get an explanation that it was either a glitch or intentional I'll give it a decent rating. I'm going with glitch though as "random smiley face mocking you" is quite a douchey easter egg.
Balancing the talents would be nice too, as their Return on Investment isn't very good. The fourth rockets upgrade is a great example: Level 1 is a 40% area increase, with each level after only giving an extra 10%. Each extra point is only 1/4 as valuable then.
Needs stackable items, if not overlapping (i.e. cross + 3-way) then added time. Get rid of the S-path item or fix it's hit box, I missed 9/10 with it no matter where I was. Definitely needs a little more control in firing. Many shots just got off into space because the timing isn't quite right. Fire with mouse, rage with space. And more badge slots.
Best tip for finding the masters: You get the masters in a specific order, NOT a specific location. The armor games forum has these listed:
Old quarter (intro and fairgrounds), Greyed quarter (tower), Working quarter(mine), Central quarter(outskirts).
I found the master of wisdom in the Old Quarter Fairgrounds. GO THROUGH ALL OF THEM!
The fact that you don't get credit for kills by allies drive me nuts. It's fine when I lose out on a few bucks, but a 2nd tier troll after a long fight being finished by a knight just makes me want to say "f*** it" and let the townsfolk get overrun.
Once you've beaten the game or unlocked a sufficient amount of vehicles, you should be able to swap the abilities. Also, if a weapon is slow firing (rail gun), having it fire at a specific pace but making it slow to track can get very annoying in the heat of battle. Either let me control firing or speed it up a bit.
Nice little game. I wish there was more control over the heavy cannon. The missiles/torpedoes are fine on their own, and the machine gun is great, but I find myself missing with the heavy cannon especially when trying to hit the smaller enemies.
Endless mode and achievements would be nice too.
As for everyone complaining about not shooting the small missiles? Man up and kill the bastards before they shoot you!
Once optics is fully upgraded, the option to select what items are shown on the map would be amazing. Finding those last chitin, viscera, pearls, etc, is a pain when you can't tell what's what!
I love the Into Space series. It's stupid fun and I can come back to over a period of time and kill it off. And that's great. But this one just REQUIRES that too much. A grind is ok for a bit, but it's not like the missions are all that hard (except the no damage one which is magnitudes worse than the rest). You need to play the game AT LEAST 150 times to beat all of the missions (if you nail every mission on the first go) and that's just too much. I like the idea of them, but give us the option to do more than one at a time at least!
I can just hear that enemy from Gears of War screaming his name over and over as I play. Also, a few times that I bought something from the shop, the selection would freeze or give a timer wheel and never actually open. It seems to be a running issue with the blops not registering.
Great game from not-at-all-money-grubbing people. 5/5 would play over my wedding day AND birth of my first born. (Damn, where's that sarcasm font when you need it?!)
WSOD on death. Which really sucks. I beat the game before it had achievements and it got deleted so I have to fight back through. But I can't die even once now!
This is one of the dumbest games I've played here... why does it not have achievements for beating adorably vicious little animals yet?! I think I got to a 5300 combo before dying in survival
You aped Flow Free and left out what made it great: Slight missteps with the same color should NOT require a full reset. Also, they added in an undo function which is great if you are working on a smaller screen as it's much easier to run over a line by accident, especially in large levels. Unlimited mode is a nice touch tho.
