Spawn first. Keep spawning. When you get a decent glob on the screen, up resistance, at least as much as the computer. Then upgrade production. Keep a decent blob on the screen. As long as the computer doesn't get the first capture right near himself, you should do OK.
Hmmmm. Would be nicer to be able to 1 click upgrades. And how come when I continue the game, And have full Production, resistance and capacity. If I spawn a full entry, it is Red instead of Green?
There is still a piece in there somewhere then that needs to be spun. You have to match top to bottom, side to side, as well. Sometimes when you think you have it, there's that one last piece...
