The art is good, though the menu buttons should show signs of response (like lighting up when hovering or clicking).
The gameplay feels "meh'. Didn't really suck me in. Also, the description giving the story/setting of this game is beyond cliched lol.
The ending was one of the most unsatisfying conclusions I've ever witnessed in the history of flash. Mainly because it feels like an ending that you could put at the end of ANY game and it just closes any kind of plot development afterwards. Seriously, the way it transitioned almost makes it seem it was rushed. I feel so cheated right now; this game is fun but it is NOT worth it for the ending.
3/5 for now. The game looks very much unfinished and unpolished, thus the fact that you're saying this will be released "soon" worries me, unless you can manage to clean up the interface and make the game itself look nicer.
For starters though, can you please make it so that the mouse is locked in place when focused in the game screen?
There is a lot of new stuff coming soon (during the next 2 weeks) and focising the mouse on the gamescreen is on schedule! if you like the game you can look forward to the next updates :)
Thanks for fixing the bug earlier that made it super-duper easy to kill the boss in a matter of seconds. Despite the current average being stained with numerous 1 star votes because of what happened earlier, in reality it really should be near the 3.8~3.9 range for both a good, challenging game and a creator who listens to our feedback.
Thanks for this awesome game, hope to see more from you in the future.
If anyone wanted to know what this masterpiece of music is, the album name is called "Rever… Peut-etre…". You can find it on the Jamendo website, and the best part is that it's free and legal to download from the Artist himself.
You guys should've spent more time thinking about how to make the game better than Epic War 4, not rush it and release a half-baked game like this. Heroes that become useless as the game gets harder, interface screens that make me pull my hair out (it's tedious to go back and forth in the upgrade screen for different units, also what's with the cheap wood backdrop?), and worst of all, upgrades. The upgrades felt much more worthwhile in Epic War 4, whereas here I feel like maxed out units barely get any survivability. I'm a big fanatic of the Epic War series, but this one really just made me sick. It made me sick because I tried SO HARD to love it, but in the end I just couldn't.
Summary: Take your time and don't rush it. And please, don't sacrifice epicness just for an easy port to mobiles like you said earlier. I freaking love the genre you created, and I don't want to see it start rolling downhill like this.
The navigation for the accessories/skills of units can be tedious work for an inexperiences mousepad user (like myself).
Can you make it so that we can navigate through the skills/accessories of the active units just by pressing an arrow or typing a key?
This is definitely a different approach at the art compared to previous Epic War titles. I, for one, find it just as appealing as the art from the prior games.
The game looks pretty good so far, but there is one almost game-breaking problem this game has: The red arrows you use to navigate the areas are waaayyyy too transparent. I'm having such a hard time just trying to find these arrows to find out where I can go or how to get out. I was stuck looking everywhere when I got to the book, just trying to out how to get out.
Other than that, I'm enjoying it so far.
@ardrhi Shop upgrades require co-operation points from guild member's workers to be able to progress. A credit card is NOT NEEDED to improve your shop in anyway what-so-ever.
Honestly yeah, it sucks that you need tokens to perform more efficiently, but it's not liked it's NEEDED. I have yet to see anything token-exclusive that is important to progress, so enjoying the game is possible still.
The token system is still stupid in my opinion though, since I could just go play something like Recettear, which is just a one-time small payment, and enjoy all the content in the game.
This game looks so good from just playing it for a few minutes. But I am very afraid for what's to come in terms of...restrictions for non-paying users.
