Too easy. Most names copied and pasted from other games. Most consumables pointless. Scatter shot + blizzard kills most trash instantly. Random dungeon generator only works when the game is actually hard and loot doesn't drop like candy out of a pinata. Whats the point of random dungeon if the game is so easy you only want to play through it one time. Next time, decrease the drop rate of epic gear and tune everything so that its actually a challenge if you dont find a piece. Make different difficulty settings. Make a hardcore mode where death is permanent. What good is feeding this slime if gear drops all over the place anyways and I'm 1 shotting trash packs. What good is playing this puzzle game when already overpowered from random drops. Take 1 minute of time and think up your own character names before stealing them from Squaresoft or even leave them nameless/named by the player. Excellent music.
The story is a lazy knockoff off of FF, The pet feeding system is a primitive version of Lufia 2, all hero names were copied and pasted from FF Mystic Quest, omnislash copied and pasted from FF7, 50% of the spells copied and pasted from WoW the list goes on and on. Low difficulty = low replay value, low replay value = random dungeon generator pointless.
@Darkklown "This is so close to the perfect dungeon crawler." Are you living in a cave or something. I don't understand why people are going nuts over this game, it feels like it may be the 1st or 2nd game they've ever played. When a game is so easy that you beat all content in a few hours its something you play for 1 day and then forget about. Well done on the music though, 5/5 on that at least.
Step 1: Google "phoebe tristram reuben kaeli"
Step 2: Look at first Link
Step 3: Facepalm
How can you spend so much time making this game and then copy paste all the character names from FF mystic quest...cmon take 1 minute to think up some new names its not that hard. Down to 3/5 for from 4 for being lazy.
Decent game with elements from FF and Lufia 2. Constructive criticism: Abilties are a bit overtuned. Once you get scatter shot and blizzard you aoe everything, give healer exp ring and get him aoe heal and aoe shell for like 2-3 bosses you need it for and nothing stands a chance. The option to keep playing "for more treasure" after beating final boss (also too easy) doesn't really motivate me to keep going. Gold drops overtuned, nothing really to buy so no real penalty even if you do die somehow. The only real relevant items that I ended up using were revives, heal pots, and ethers, everything else ignored. 30 point skills not needed, beat game with 22 skill points. As a seasoned rpg player I don't see any replay value. Still good though 4/5
Would be good but units aren't balanced very well and its kind of easy, couple of hours and everything unlocked and all gold stars, nothing else to do...3/5
Cleanse warlocks kind of underpowered since there is no map with 2 bog towers and you can just stun the single bog tower. Maybe a couple hours of game time then no replay value once you have everything unlocked 3/5.
A combo that works well for me to farm initial medals is (Me)Hunter w. firerate bowgun, guardian w. shotgun, hire a rogue w. rifle & militia w. gravity gun. This setup gives you a lot of good party skills with little overlap. and good aoe when tons of enemies spawn. At later levels party every day for the dmg boost.
I've played several good roguelikes and this game isn't really one of them. You all aren't missing much...go play Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup if you want a good roguelike.
There should be a better scoring system other than just all time total kills, something to do with how many treasures you get vs. number of days it takes to win.
