Yorg 1 was cool! I love tech-style gfx of it, I love the feeling of raw building process, numbers, thinking, upgrades, fight... Here all that music, sweet gfx for kids, all those "show me how" popups... bueeeeh. Not cool anymore. 2/5
The idea is great 5/5, the mechanics is fine 4/5, but the performance 0/5 (switching tabs takes multiple seconds on modern machine) and the UIX (really a lot of clicking to see things that should be "just there") 2/5, makes this game a struggle. (side dev comment: using Angular for real-time game ? really ?)
So, wait, the only real "strategy" decision is to click on one of the heroes few times each battle ? This is boring... The game is beautiful (I like the sound, gfx and gui), but the gameplay is just boring.
I'd love to see more stones to mine. I mined all of them already on level 8. Add external mine maybe for crazy clickers like me ? Mine outside of town ?
I want more of this kind of games ! Make "Gimme Potato 2" please ! I wanna play those kind of games and pay the devs for a good work (no ads, no freemium, just pay a fair "beer-or-two" amount for 2-3 hours of my fun).
I'm really glad you had a fun time! Thank you. I have read enough comments asking for another game like this to make up my mind. There WILL be a Gimme Potato 2, but it might take some time. I'm a one man team and I'm already working on another game. Also, I don't want the sequel to be too similar, I want to use the same concept while providing a different experience, so there's one more reason it may take a while. The sequel will also be posted on Kongregate and will be completely free, just like this one. :D
I completely dislike the auto-stop when switching focus to different window. Normally on this kind of games, when I start the long fight, I go to another window/monitor to read something else for a while, until the long fight finishes... Here, the game pauses and I can't disable that.
This is a lite version of the game. Full version with new levels and tons of improvements will be available in Steam and on mobile platforms soon.
And now you can see all stats in the help section.
