This engine is clearly awesome, yet too much games with this unachieved feeling made it really boring.
I'm sorry if it sounds mean, but just browse the new games through racing category and you'll find plenty of these same games.
Please, "RACING 3D GAMES"... Stop...
Few hints :
Once you get the shield, duck to bounce ball missile attacks back to ennemies (but fireballs still hurt you).
When you get the dash bonus (sort of mountain icon) you can double press right or left to dash and break white walls, kill orange mobs, and run through white lasers.
I think you should also change the game icon/menu image. I'm pretty sure that Platinum Games/ Sega won't let people use Bayonetta artwork freely.
Whatever you may answer and have already answered, this does not belong here as said Nenslo.
Furhermore, there IS a jumping in the animation loop as said ll24llll, no need to try to find any excuse involving a stronger right leg...
And as afklol said, the controls are way to slow.
This is flagged, there is a "beta" section where beta games are uploaded. This isn't even a game, at most, an interactive animation and thus doesn't belong to any kongregate game category.
You should add some kind of description, history, music, something to catch up the player, because that's actually a rellay nice platformer, fun to play, with challenging yet not too hard bosses.
Few (3) suggestions, furthermore I guess a plus for the gameplay : 1- This little space fox alien thingy is able to double jump, yet can't jump while falling ? It could be able to jump once it just falls from a platform. 2- the upgrade menu is not clear, confusing, a 'bit' of work is needed (and please, don't say it's a work in progress game, or use the "paying" beta section, or wait for a finished game). 3- The push back while jumping is a bit too strong in my opinion.
Thanks for the suggestions! I am working on the pull at the moment and should cut it in half by tonight. Also I will look into the upgrades and make them more user friendly. I cant change the double jump tho. I will try to get all the suggestions in by tonight. An no, I would never put a beta game on kongregate. Thanks again and I will send you the skin once it is up!
Another point regarding my previous comment, why resetting upgrades after finishing the game ?... It makes me want to lower my rating... And I guess all "upgrade games perfectionnists" won't appreciate this either.
Funny game, with obviously a lot of effort involved, passing on the fact the gameplay is basically tossing a turtle. I've played so far 20 minutes, bought almost all upgrades and almost reached the goal.
The most important point, it's entertaining and fun to play, yet, there're some issues with the rocket system. 1- It doesn't seem to be very responsive, clicking sometimes doesn't trigger it. 2- The retry button doesn't reinitialize the rocket counter. 3- There's a bug, maybe after hitting a wooden watchtower, even with a rocket lasting, I was unable to launch it.
So quiet fun so far, déjà vu, yet entertaining : 3/5 (4/5 once the rocket system is fixed)
I do not usually like "beta" games posted elsewhere than into beta section... Yet, this got some great potential, very nice 'gameplay', handable as no unity game there, so smooth and awesomely well made animation. I hope you'll turn this into a full game, 5/5 to encourage you!
Again, awesome concept. Thus.. With great concepts, comes great requirements :
I reduce my previous rating to 3/5 until we get : a saving feature, scores (mostly based on levels timing resolution), replay / sharing levels own solutions (such as Fantastic Contraption).
And it would be great to have a scrolling sandbox mode, the screen is way too small to have fun with creatures conceptions. Zooming in and out would be also awesome.
And I was about to forget : applying numbers to muscles shouldn't move the whole structure, it's a bit frustrating. Also, resetting a level should restore the creature to its initial structure.
Finally, those are not complaints, but eagerly expected upgrades to turn this into one of the most awesome HTML5 actual games :)
Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, I wanted to add highscores, since that would make playing the levels much more interesting. Since I did this for the Ludum Dare competition, I only had 48h and didn't have to for something server-side nor the Kongregate-API.
Also, you -can- share your creatures with others. When you are in Design-mode, you can press esc and see the options 'Share creature' and 'Load creature'. That way you can copy-paste the code of your creature to someone else.
I whish QWOP was this easy to handle. Very interesting game and concept, nice use of the mouse buttons thanks to HTML5, that fits ergonomically to the "organisms" conception.
5/5 so far, I've not yet finished the game, yet, this is highly innovative.
You shouldn't have said it was impossible, even if it's obvious. A simple "Game Over" and a replay option could turn this into a viral game, how can someone tell his friend he managed to shoot the Alpaca a make fun seeing him trying again and again is you break the fun within 40 seconds ?
Hello Zappan, thanks for your concern. I have also considered your suggestion, but without the notice, most people will not know that the game is actually a prank and the alpaca is intentionally made to be invisible. Additionally they might doubt there's a bug in the game.
It would be even better if the wings were enabled with left click instead of spacebar, mouse only, and not wasting the whole flight at once, but allowing you to use it only when you click.
i didnt know theres was a beta section, and u can flag the pope if u want to :)
