This game needs to learn the difference between hard and frustrating. Hard is when something requires good timing and a grasp of what's going on. Frustrating is (example from in-game) jumping off of a trampoline trying to make a gap in a wall that is only slightly bigger than yourself lined with spikes that kill you when you touch even the non-pointy bits of them. could be 4/5 or 5/5 if quick restart and toning down some of the ridiculous parts were put in.
This game would be better if two things were implemented. 1.) The troops got off whatever they're taking, in the castle levels my troops would attack one guy, then charge the enemy castle no matter what was in the way, attacking nothing. My ranged people appear to desperately love the other guy, at least that's what I'm getting out of my archers charging the enemy's melee section, presumably for a quick hug before they die. 2.) Separate construction lines, or at least the option to cancel current unit building. Several times I was busy building ground units, as they're most cost effective, only be see that the enemy suddenly sent up some air soldiers. I could do nothing except hopelessly queue up an air soldier while my 4 ground units finish building. Other than these two main things it looks good and plays pretty well.
This looks like an awesome game, if only it were playable. A quick recount of my experience with this game: first cell: picked a cell that sounded cool, destroyed the asteroid-things for a bit, explored, quickly died. second cell: picked a cell that seemed like it had a nice base. repeat adventures of #1. third cell: tried a different strategy, died a bit quicker. fourth cell: picked a custom base, got some upgrades and started killing enemy cells fairly easily. wandered a bit far and found the boss. died. rage quit. 2/5 until you make a difficulty curve that isn't a cliff.
This is, in my opinion, one of the better defense games, not bogged down by dozens of different weapons, kept simple and fluid, and still challenging. It would be nice to have a bit easier time of switching weapons, but if it came down to it I'd prefer to have a quick way of using the special weapons rather than other weapons. The game seems kind of random with difficulty, though, early on it's easy, as to be expected, then about 7 days till evacuation it becomes extremely hard, for me, at least, and then lets up a bit until the final level, at which point I had so many upgrade points most of the monsters were fodder. 4/5, a couple changes (and maybe sandbox mode) could make this an easy 5/5
Pretty nice, what I suggest most is to give at least vague control, to be able to organize a militia of sorts, such as you can tell them where to go but if they're losing the battle they'll break ranks and run.
Everyone, just found an easy way to beat the shadow, just stand there. Stand at the left platform next to the wall, I just had regen and high fortitude, I can imagine that hardy would be handy here, too. I beat him in about a minute by doing nothing at all, he'll slash you, knock you unconscious, and stand there trying to slash you while the meteors advance, hope this helps clear the game of some of the criticism
Awesome game, but the nightmare's way too hard. I got level 5 in everything, didn't win the game just to see if I could finally beat him, but no, he's not even 1/4 the way down and I die.
This game is awesome, except for one main thing: jumping must be absolutely beyond belief perfect. In most games you can be a couple pixels off on all the jumps, not this one. other than that, very good.
Not just you, Sethv, troops from captured cities seems random, and usually sides in favor of the computer, as well as all of the sides deciding they want you dead each and every time.
It's a fun game and nice concepts behind it, but I'm stuck on level 8, so I don't even get to play with all the fun stuff yet. Maybe I just suck as a player, but it seems a fairly unforgiving.
I'd suggest you call this game a beta version, it really is a good idea, fairly good execution, just needs some of the ideas suggested in the comments implemented, namely ship stats before we buy them.
Very good, but far too easy. The cost to upgrade a tower from nothing to max is only something like 150-200g, and 4 sets of max towers easily defeated everything; on the same note money's just a bit too easy to get, other than that, great.
The bosses are rather hard, and, if not a continue button, at least give us more than 1 life, I haven't managed to get past the second boss in the 3 times i tried before it got too frustrating.
Fairly easy, just upgrade speed fully and first; i got to the end, destroyed the atom bomb, lost my ability to shoot, then my city was destroyed, might want to look into that.
After playing this for a longer while...I really don't like it, everything i buy gets stolen in days and i can't afford a guard, and the stock market still crashes whenever i put money into it.
Extremely fun game, but bad things seem to happen way too often. Two things to do for money: 1.) Go to work each day, switch works as you get fired (which is often) and pray your money doesnt get stolen. 2.) put it in the stock market and watch as it crashes and you lose your money. Would be a better game if you had some security, like put an interest rate on your bank account.
It seems like a good and original concept, it just needs the bugs worked out of it, not that that's an easy task, considering their number. Once you fix the bugs it's a good 4/5 in my book.
