This game took everything that was bad about Papa's Pizzeria and made it worse. Even the simple burgers are 7 ingredients tall, which means not only waiting for them to order 7 ingredients, but also having to stack 7 ingredients and keep them in the center. And you can't stack ingredients ahead of time because the patties are on the bottom of the burger anyway. Taking an order lasts exactly as long as 1/8 of the burger timer. Oh, what's that? So does DELIVERING an order? When I play a game, I do not want to worry about a scene taking too long -- especially when I have to watch that scene TEN TIMES per level. Servers don't stand and wait for their customers' thorough inspection and approval. That's not at all in the spirit of multitasking.
Conclusion: I like the game, but I wish I didn't have to watch ten customers inspect their food every level.
So I just drop a bunch of burgers, and by the time customers finish ordering, I just build the burger. (I leave them a bit unfinished so I can warm them back up if I need to.)
I don't understand how to win. I played through 3 times. I got all 10 fortress upgrades, set taxes to 0% on the last turn, spent ALL money (and food) on weapons and an army on the last turn, and I still lost. I had 450+ happy, and a food rate of 20. What.
The many planes of gravity keep making me giggle - when pieces float off diagonally together, or pieces float up while everything else is falling... also, the "YEAAHH" at the end makes me giggle!
Nice touch with the smiling faces!
Usually these types of "throw the player straight in with little to no explanation" games are not very straightforward, but this game manages to give just enough of a clue for me to figure everything out totally on my own. Excellent job. 5/5.
Money exponentially increments. It's slow at first, but one shot out of the golden cannon will probably make you enough money to buy the tank.
5/5, a rare rating from me, because I think it's the best in its genre.
I generally measure early success by 13/08/2008. By this date, 20k infected in the first country is great, but I always seem to get over 1 million with Cuba (and at least three OTHER countries infected). 26, on the other hand (USA), seems kinda... low. Not gonna win in 100 days.
Something to consider. :)
So, if I didn't get all 3 stars the first time around (a rare occasion), I knew what I had to do to fix it and I fixed it. This game was way too easy. Most levels were a single playthrough for me. Nice art. The key gambling levels bump this up to a 4/5
I managed to beat level 24 by attaching one stick to the top left of the second ball from the bottom (4th one down). It fell and then knocked the king over.
