Don't listen to the walkthrough on 10. Walk down to the bottom, put one standing boxman on the shadow spikes, one standing at the far left, and put a runner between them. It's easy from there.
The physics are inconsistent. I'll build one bridge structure that works, then build another completely unconnected one, and when I test it the first structure no longer works.
The game could use a "Shots left" count somewhere on the display, not just at mouse click. And I really wish that full upgrades meant 100% (double damage/bounces/extra shots)
Needs a quality setting. Does lag mess up towers? On level 8 I can't possibly attack if the enemy gets up a single base tower, it kills me before my units reach the colony.
Campaign is easy but slow. Bosses can take a long time to kill. I kept getting hit by enemies spawning and immediately attacking, which felt pretty cheap.
silmarilen: Yeah, I just tried it again. I think my game had glitched up again. It keeps giving the first (or second or third) unit a massive damage boost. That must've happened to me when I was doing the forest. Sorry about that.
Little forest is great for xp and cash, too. A single consecrate energy archer built for speed can defend it, and it rakes in 2000xp and 1200 gold in just over 5 minutes.
brandeninbc: Thanks for the forest suggestion, it's a lot faster for melee units than Island of Woe! For Horde, just do the lighthouse and fill everywhere up with mages.
Island of woe is best for top mages. Make sure you have all other mage-related upgrades. Place one in each of the front corner, then fill up the slots at the end with mages. Make them all cold, then just upgrade the front two mages towards destructor. When the final boss comes, the first one will level up. Wait until the boss makes it all the way through to level up your mage, so that the boss has a chance of going to the other mage and levelling him up, too.
I'm guessing you had the all-of-one element award though, which would give you a bit of a bonus. When I was playing, that award wasn't given, and enemies kept barely sneaking by. With the slight bonus from it, I may have been able to go on before grinding out a level :) Many of the people who have played and lost did it before today's patch.
