I got to the end without reading the comments and got goosebumps. I literally had no idea what I was in for and just sat there stupidly. 5/5

Darn you connel we all died from one of those fishes so we all knew what the other side of hunting was, why must you haunt the breathable depths of the ocean!!!!

@animereviewdude I think it was more like he was attracting people to try to kill him. Because he says, "I still only know how one side of the hunt feels". So like he got bored of being the best out there and he leads people to try and challenge him.

So... there's a weird fisherman and demon like fishes with things that looks like the fisherman? So the fishes eats baby fishermans?

this game is a masterpiece and if you anilize the guffins it says that he had a little exitment but didnt have enough so he used the diary pages to attract people so he can have his exitment killing them

Strange game but rather easy... like shooter with collector but it means games day after day 1 or 2 fast action to return from hunt before air gone and its used like amunition and normal oxygen so you need balance it to have enough to come back.

It's an underwater fishing game with vector graphics with a storyline and a final "message". In theory, it's sounds absolutely awful, and in practice... yes, it's exactly that. Why does a game as stupid and silly like this have to reward me with a "downer" ending and some half arsed "morals"? Besides that, the upgrade system is pretty terrible, and all the time I felt like I wasn't making any progress at all. I do have a positive remark, though: somehow, the game gave me a very claustrophobic, creepy feeling as I went deeper into the ocean, which was pretty great. The only great thing in this game.

Picked up a fish and it flashed #15000. I was like... wait, wut? once i got back on my boat that doubled to $30,000. not sure what I did to earn so much money, but i ain't complainin!

This is a very good game. Sort of tries to say something, it's like One Chance in that way. Never played anything like it, I am very glad I found it. Loved the music.

This is one of the best games i ever played. And somehow the huge fish scared me o.o even though they were just lines. But..who is that at the very end of the game? or what is it, and is there a way to kill it? The only thing i wish is that the game was longer otherwise its a awesome game!

i couldn't find my boat and i failed to purchase the compass. i became enraged and proceeded to carry out an ethnic cleansing on anything that didn't look like me or my boat.

Screw you Captain Connell. We KNOW how the other half feels -- we've known that ever since we found out what those bloody red squares represent.

This game is awsome when i noticed it gott badges came back to complete it once again. Whish i could give it another 5/5 :D

This is an AWESOME game I like how you can upgrade things. A lot of things on Kongregate are great games and then no upgrades 10/5 :¬D

I beat this a couple days ago. When I saw that I had to beat it again to get the badges, I wasn't even mad. That's how much I enjoyed this.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
though I hate to risk spoiling anything, is it actually possible to beat the err "last thing" because I've tried like 8 times and haven't succeeded yet
Sorry, dude! I had a statistic from launch that was supposed to submit whenever a player finished the game, in the hopes that if it ever got a badge, the people who had already played it wouldn't have to do it over again. Unfortunately, Kongregate only tracks statistics that are either displayed in high scores or are currently involved in a badge. Since the "completed game" stat was neither, it wasn't being reported. Sorry again for the inconvenience!
I briefly talked to a staff member about seeing if this could be fixed, so we'll have to wait and see how it goes for future releases.

Definitely love the feel of the game, from the early to mid stages the game starts feeling just "off" somehow, and as you go it just gets stranger, it has that simplistic minimalistic feel that I crave, but mixed with the strange feeling that was so elegantly utilized, by the ending you can finally realize the subtle change that has been happening all along and the game's message becomes clear.

2 things id love to see changed 1 give fish a life bar its hard to know when they are dead and when they are about to attack. 2 make a bigger storage diving down deep wasnt very fun 1 fish and i couldnt even carry all of it back

no instructions AT ALL. you have to guess on everything. migthve been a good game if you realized people dont psychically know what to do

I assume guffin is a reference to the term macguffin, which is "a plot element that catches the viewers' attention or drives the plot of a work of fiction", to quote Wikipedia. Didn't want to leave some less precise definition from memory there. First used by Alfred Hitchcock.

For people trying to earn the max money in each dive: Note that some of the fish have green boxes and grey orbs... Look for the fish with two or more green boxes (each gives 0.5 multiplier from the looks of it), then try killing a killing a larger fish to max out your inventory. Got nearly 4k just killing one small fish with green squares, and then one large fish. Also, if you need air and notice there's a guffin nearby, grab it. Guffins completely heal you and restore oxygen.
