"Controllers are supported", but apparently you can't move with the directional pad. I'm using a SNES repro, not a PS DualShock imitator so I can jump in place and attack with the controller but can't move or change direction that way.

It'd be nice if there was a pause screen so player could pause the game so they can do other things, like talk in chat, feed the cat, find a hat, or something like that. I also recommend adding some way to mute the game during the game, and not just at the title screen.

...no special message/bonus for beating the boss in stage 4? That's...very disappointing. Otherwise, the game is fun and other issues can be ignored, but...no ending? That really makes any effort feel...hollow.

The boss in stage 4 is hard even with full upgrade. He can only be hurt by opening treasure chests. Also later in the stage there are minions going for the base, so it may not be a good strategy trading village's health for hero's health.

Could only get 2500 gold twice now, first time bugged, second time I lost versus last boss. I think the only way to hurt the king is to pick up treasure, my attacks didn't seem to hurt him.

Upgrades don't seem equal, the lance from stables seems the worst upgrade in the game. May have to restart or something only buying the most powerful upgrades in order to beat the game.

Game keeps killing me randomly - 2 hearts, no monsters nearby, and instant death. Seems to be a bug. Makes the game unplayable.

The game is actually not about protecting a town but to open as many chests as possible that mysteriously appear on your ground. Killing stuff is just secondary objective. This aside there are three things. 1) Allow us to see what upgrades to the town we bought. 2) Allow us to actually disable unwanted pickups. When you save money to buy something that turns out to mess your playing style its punishment enough. No need to actually encounter it. 3) Crushing boots are nice, since they crush enemies on the same platform. but why cant it kill enemies by jumping on their head? exspecially when the platforms get more and more crowded...

Fool me thinking killing the boss on level 4 is the end of the game... Is there a level 5 and another boss? How much we need to gather to ante up level 4?

3/5 the game is nice but is very repetitive after a while and there's a bug where you can't ante up even if you have the necessary amount to do so, the the button appears as available but you can click as much as you want that won't work, happened a few times already and it's really annoying :(

sure wish i could reset progress and start over. there are so many weapon upgrades i just wouldn't have gotten if i knew how awful they were.

honestly the only way holy would be viable is either being able to have more than one on the screen or adding a horizontal beam

The ax makes this game almost unplayable. You really can't kill anyone on the same level as you. It also come up far faster than all other weapons.

Got it! The lance Doesn't trigger on Z!
That's not a good sign for the Dev's abstraction capabilities, but the spacebar control makes the game playable again

There should be a way to review the purchased deck / inventory, and turn off some of the effects / weapons ... to prevent people zooming in on a single weapon they prefer you could put some limitations to it, but there are some weapons i'd rather never loot anymore.

I hate the axe. What's the point of a weapon that arcs over everything. WHAT WHERE THEY THINKING!!!!? + for AVGN reference.

Not sure if this is the best place to write this, but thanks to this game I checked your webcomic and I spent the last 6h reading it and increasingly becoming a fan of Michelle :) Great story and great characters, you're a fantastic DM ^^

I wish there was a way to disable weapons. I can't even make it to level 3 anymore now that I've purchased bombs and boomerangs. every single time I've died or lost the town since then was from getting stuck with bombs or boomerangs.

my advice for weapon improvements:
1) Boomerang needs to move faster and deal 2 damage per hit. If it's a totally unspammable move, it should be punishing when it does land.
2) Ice magic should deal 2 or even 3 damage if you hit with the main spike. You should be rewarded for actually hitting things with such a finicky, slow projectile moreso than its spammy fragments. Alternatively, it could pierce through enemies until it hits a wall.
3) Light magic should have shorter duration, but you should be able to start charging a new beam while the old beam is still out.
4) The ball and chain passive should not put enemies into invulnerability. They should become immune to the ball and chain for a bit, but I've gotten hurt too many times because the ball and chain protected them from my lance or sword attack.
This game is really fun, it just needs a bit of polish to make it truly shine.
