I only just realized that you can't see buttons from the side. You need to look directly at the section of the wall in order to see it. That would have been good to know.

I seem to have encountered a glitch in the fire temple. At one point, the screen froze up and I had to refresh the page. Once I had reloaded, I found that every part of the screen was blacked out except for the view. As such, it is impossible to perform any action (e.g., give attack commands or check inventory, etc.) except movement. I'm sorry to say that Ive reloaded several times now only to find that the game seems to have stuck that way. Until this glitch is fixed, I will not be able to continue my game.

I've completed the other dark temples, but I'm stuck outside Fnook's temple. I can't find any way through the barrier.

Very nice game I loved the Might & Magic series and this brings back those memories. Tempted now to learn more of these languages just to see what the NPCs are saying. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Required lockpicking and knock powers are listed in the walkthrough. With master lockpicking you should able to open the doors at the fire golems easily, unless your agility is really low. However, I suggest you do the four town dungeons first before tackling the golems.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
What level lockpicking or knock do you need to open the doors in the fire golem dungeon? I can't open either of the first two doors in the first room. I have master lockpicking and am using the +10 picks. knock is much lower (7 expert I believe)

I thought I had dropped off enough coingrass so I sold my last few pieces. I didn't get to the northern passage until fairly late because of difficulties in the temples.... So, that sucks.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@ Beranek - Of course! Somehow, the most obvious option is the one I completely ignored. Thank you for your response.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@isubsmith: Well, the recommended level for that quest is 13, not to mention you can gather coingrass a lot earlier. When the monsters stop attacking you, it's too late. But don't worry, missing this quest won't affect your game, the folks will just have to put up with a tainted river :)
@CluelessWonder: I just tweaked it so that you shouldn't get afflicted if the enemy misses. As for the crystals, I have no clue, it's never happened to me and I can't find a problem in the code. The crystals seem to have a mind of their own, mysteriously.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Also, I occasionally see in battle that an enemy's attack on me has "missed" (so no immediate damage), but my character is Bleeding now, or Stunned now, or whatever. Seems odd that the opponent missing is so shocking that my character got Stunned by it or has heavy Bleeding from a papercut or whatever...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Well, this is bizarre. I had noticed before some of my crafted crystals becoming *other* crystals over time, though I'd thought I'd just sorted them into the wrong inventories... but this is hard to 'rationalize away'. I just noticed that of my archer's cache of 10 power20 Cunning Crystals, 4 of them mysteriously became 2 Strength crystals, 1 Vitality crystal, 1 Agility crystal. The Diamond variety. I had just crafted specifically those 4 crystals... and used them. And now, I find I have an *extra* set having somehow transmuted the Cunning crystals I have sitting around, without looking at them or attempting anything special.

Well, I got through all the temples. My party is level 16/17. I need to get 3 more coingrasses to finish the spring quest. However I don't get attacked in the forest any more. Am I in trouble for finishing the quest?
Thanks. Great game btw. I'm enjoying playing it.

Great game. I love the system very much, it feels a lot like a classic rpg. Only problem I have is that I can only play for 15-30 mins before needing to rest. The graphics kinda makes me nauseous. I gave it a 5.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Ineverwrit You should be able to undo what you did... You need to push button 5 again to remove the wall blocking button 4. If button 5 is also inaccessible, push button 6 again. After that, push 4,5,6 in the correct order.

@Beranek
Awesome game! I have spent far too much time this week playing it.
I have managed to get through some rather tough spots, but now I am stuck with no way out.
I am in the temple of Fnook. I finally opened you walkthrough to get some help and realized I may be too late. I pushed buttons 5 and 6 first. Now, I can't access button 4 and the last barrier is still up. Any help would be greatly appreciated! (and I don't have an escape scroll).

Please don't abuse the walkthrough though. Try to solve the puzzles on your own first, otherwise you'll miss out on all the fun :P

Perhaps a skill that would increase the chance of getting gemstones? Or the Crystalcraft ability to be able to rise the chance of getting them?

Ice palace was actually one of the easier puzzles in my oppinion, if a bit tedious. You have to arrange the 3 standing ice crystals on the 3x3 grid to open five or six gates that are there. There is a different combination for each of the gates, from what I figured out, something close to a line pointing at the desired gate.

Well, with the latest update of adding wizards and healers staff/orb attacks I have to say this game gets a 5/5 from me. Since I never have the sound on when I play, the VA doesn't affect me. And I see as though your explanation of the VA fits right in with the themes. Good job good sir.

The Wheel of Time turns, and ages come to pass... pretty sure the Wheel of Time is intellectual property held by the heirs of Robert Jordan/James Oliver Rigney Jr. But... otherwise, it's a great game :) Good work!

i sometimes have a problem in the game when im on my spellbook screen
i cant cast anyof the spells nor can i get off that screen
happened to me with the healer when i did the purify spell and then tried to heal ereally quickly after the spell

A side note: some of you complain about the NPC voices. Unfortunately, I couldn't hire voice actors (the game is free), so I used what I could find in movies etc. The NPC speeches actually make sense in the respective languages (Gleann-Irish, White City-Czech, Phoibos-Greek, Tsuki-Japanese, Tietola-Finnish). If you speak none of these languages, it all sounds like gibberish to you, naturally.

@CluelessWonder: no recommended order, just go wherever you have best resistance. If you can, make some resistance boosting crystals (expert)
@kenneth2830: thanks for the praise. I'm changing the hotkeys to appear only in combat.
@Darius77: thanks. I'm adding a weak non-elemental attack for the spellcasters, even though I was quite reluctant to do it :) As for the keys in the fire temple, the walkthrough will be out soon.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Beranek: I am stuck in the fire temple in the exact same place as bollegraph. Talked to the fire priest, got the key from him, went up the ladder to the 2nd floor of the temple. And that is where I cannot progress. There are a bunch of doors here with key holes. as well as another door behind a magic barrier. I've fought a ton of monsters all over this place, but none have dropped any keys. Can't force the doors; my archer has expert level lockpicks, but can't pick the locks; and my wizard is unsuccessful with a knock spell on the doors. Is this some kind of a bug where the monsters aren't dropping the keys they are supposed to? I've tried fighting on just about every tile up here. Also, I do not see any switches, but I have tried telekineses and bow shot on the doors and walls as well just in case.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I agree that the game deserves a better rating. It is a pretty enjoyable game. I like the NPC pictures too, though the rest of the graphics and voice acting leave a bit to be desired. A few suggestions would be to allow wizards and druids to attack (non-elemental) with their staves/orbs without using up mana, because I find my wizard is useless 75% of the time in battle. A walkthrough would be great!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Is there a recommended order to do the temples in? My party (Fighter, Paladin, Druid, Archer) are all Lv10, and whichever of the 3 temples I walk into, I pretty much get slaughtered... At the very least, a good idea of which elemental resist to beef up on 1st would be handy as I grind for better gear...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Have to say, I enjoy this game now. I've played it for a few days now and found it pretty enjoyable. Graphics wise it's still not the greatest and there are a few things I dislike about it, like the hotkeys showing out of battle and being unusable. The only other thing I'd suggest is allowing Wizards and Healers to attack with their staves and orbs without using mana.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@isubsmith: I was talking about the temple of Lucion (and also temple of Toxa btw), where you get keys from monsters. In the earth temple, the keys are only in chests. There IS enough of them there to get to the prophecy page. If you're very unlucky and open the wrong doors, you might not get all the loot. But since you saved one key when you used the Escape scroll (clever!), you can certainly open all doors. The buttons here are a bit tricky though, so if you can't figure it out, wait for the walkthrough.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Is the drop rate for keys in the earth temple 100% if i'm in the right place? I *think* I've got all the buttons and opened all the doors I can. I did end up using an escape scroll instead of using a key on the door you find once you climb out of the pit (and then used the key on a different door). Hopefully that doesn't cause me grief. I still need 2 or 3 more keys.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The droprate for keys is always 100%, you just need to find the right place with the monsters that HAVE the key. Lockpicking/forcing/knocking is meant for doors that have no associated key at all (there are no such doors in the fire temple). Requirements are far from unreasonable, doors that are difficult to pick are generally easy to force or knock.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@beranek i thought bollegraph doesn't even get in the part of the fire temples where you need the keys. But the drop rate should be higher, cus i got only 2 keys and after 1hour(have to much freetime^^) of grinding the monsters to dust, and eating allmost all my food stuff i just lockpicked every door till i had 1 hairpin left(a wonder that it worked at the last door).
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I love this game, but the lockpicking requirements in places like the golem temples and the air temple are unreasonable.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This game is outstanding. I've been playing it since it first appeared, and why it's been treated so unfairly in terms of ratings is entirely beyond my understanding. This is easily a 5-star entry.
As for the question of whether or not to post a walkthrough, I feel it would only serve to enhance the experience, so I vote "yes".
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Lod89: the encounters that drop keys are at the end of each corridor. I already gave out hints for the fire temple: 1) telekinesis/bow shot, 2) button next to the teleporter
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@bollegraph: oh my, the game isn't supposed to be a grind. At level 17 you should be further ahead in the story. If you have the Samuel's Prophecy quest, speak to Abraxas in the fire temple, he should give you a key. About the escape scroll, there was a slight overlook, it should work fine now.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
by the way Lod89, I have found the small sub-quests for the bottles of wine (in Phoibos, gleann, and Tsuiki - forgive spelling, not looking them up just now) in underground lairs continue to generate monsters get 341 points for even after the wine/chest is found. Just go back down and move around.

I'm working on a walkthrough, I'll post it soon.
@Mill_Wilkinson: I'm Czech, but I love Finnish - if you play long enough to get to Tietola, you'll hear the NPCs there speak Finnish :)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Lod89 - this is where I'm feeling so dumb. Got key, got treasure chest, went to upper level and there i am - my rogue can't lockpick those doors, I have killed many monsters there, I just don't see what the puzzle is - locked doors I can't get into and a 'magic wall' in front of another locked one. Is there a magic wall I haven't found or a power one of my characters doesn't have yet? Was that initial key I got from priest supposed to be used upstairs? I think I used it on the initial unlock downstairs - I first attempted this level before doing the other 2 first, back when my characters were weaker. Any thoughts?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@bollegraph
did you speak with the priest of the fire temple?he gives you a key to open the way to the upper level.
If he doesn't gave you a key then its a bug...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Not sure why I am so dumbfounded, but can't even begin the Fire Temple. I have completed the water and earth temples and my characters are around level 17, but I can't see anything to begin the fire temple. Any help? the comments so far don't do anything for me.
Beranek, this is a well crafted game and very fun. I do have one freeze up problem with the screen each time AFTER I have used the escape scroll. Close and reopen window works just fine with no loss and I am in right town. It has happened every time (a Mac user i am if that makes any difference).
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Yeesh, this game really doesn't hold back on it's difficulty(not a bad thing btw.) You can exploit the save system by entering combat and refreshing the page, you'll be dropped outside of battle at the same spot although if the enemies are faster than you, you can still get hit for a hefty amount of damage.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
well i am out of the fire temple(found a switch while i walked trough a wall=.=)
but now i have the problem that there are no random enemy encounter anymore,
is that a bug or am i just too strong for the monsters and don't appear anymore?
cus i still got some sub-quest to do
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I'm all for having a walkthrough. Not everyone may need one, but it will be there if they do. AND it will prevent people from getting to irritated with this game because they get stuck that they give it a poor rating. I also think the Walkthrough should be a general FAQ also. Like where the skill trainers are. How soon you can get a skill to Expert. What level of Knock or Pick Lock it takes to open a door or chest.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I opened the door to the dungeon in tietols and found the secret passageways but got to a dead end, went back another way flipped a switch and nothing else opened up? Whats supposed to be down here and how do you get to it?
