So much more detail than the average point-and-click adventure. And the feel of the hand-drawn artwork is top-notch. Congratulations on beginning a great game. I'm excited to see where chapter 2 leads!

i enjoyed the game, it wasn't too easy, and a nice challenge. no pixel hunting, and i enjoyed the dialogue. lots of hard work here. the music got quite repetitive, so thank you for the option to turn it off!

I raised my vote to 5 stars because this game is so underrated. And I don't get why. It seriously deserves about 4.1-4.2 overall, or more.
Our previous game suffered the same curse :( I mean, we got tons of attention from the great people of Kong, and great reviews, but the rating was similar to this one.

very nice, reminds me of Hyptosis's games, which are all favorites. I love the hand drawn style, but to save time you may want to try using Daz3d Studio for your renders (its also free). Part of the suggestion is for the selfish reason that I don't want to wait long for chapter 2! I need to know what happens!
Believe it or not, the artwork is the fastest thing done in the game. It takes much more time to fine-tune everything and go through every dialogue to make it sound natural and uncluttered with information. Then there's all the bug-fixing, rearranging, puzzle improvement, etc. THEN there's the waiting before finding a sponsor, and even more waiting until the game is readied for release.

This is better then your last game, the Gray rainbow. Tell me, did you handdraw the scenes in this game or does it just appear that way?

great game, just the right measure of atmosphere, story and gameplay. :) well done black olive and just keep going like this. i'm looking forward to chapter 2...

At first I wasn't expecting to enjoy this. There was a lot of words and it seemed too easy. But then it got really good. Awesome story line and Mora is an awesome invention.

5 Stars.
This reminds me of those textheavy adventures back in the 80´s C=64 aera. Tainted olive seems to me as one of those little precious gems here on kong. Thank you for this one :)

I liked the game, but found 2 bugs. One where there was overlapping text when I was talking to the girl in the garden, and playing with the ratman, it showed 2 hands highlighted in stead of one.

Whoa, this game is way too short, I'm happy that there'll be a chapter 2 but I was just getting into this. I read every word of the story line (unusual for me) so having invested so much of my time in this I expected more!
Tut tut

There is a typo when talking to the Ratman where one of the options say "I do not thing I am ready for this. I am leaving.Farewell"

Thanks for the PM response, I can't believe I hadn't clicked that option lol
This is a great game and it felt like I was missing out!

In the walkthrough after the dock the map is clicked open and you go into a room with rats, this is not on my map. In the video it is done so quickly I can't see where it is accessed. I've done everything right so far but don't know how to access that room, I think there's a glich in the game but can't proceed further. Very frustrating

Four stars shinning but the fifth remains cold, for this chapter is a bit too short. Make the next longer a bit, so five stars will smile at thee.
Ahh, what can I say. I could have padded the game with more puzzles, but I always put the story first. However, this really was only the introduction. Some things needed to happen, but mostly we just get familiar with the world. Chapter 2 is where the real story begins - and it will be two-three times longer than Chapter 1!

Such an ass for leaving us like this! Ill be checking for the second part every day waiting for the story to continue!

One of the best point-and-click games I've ever played. A couple of minigames to keep me interested. And the items to find aren't just a pixel or the color black while in a dark area. 5/5
Thanks! If you have time you could always play our other adventure game. It is in the same vein - but the story is much more light-hearted and colourful.

Great game! Just one thing, black olive games: All the characters were men (or at least male), except for the young, pretty, naive woman. Please, can you make the next instalments not sexist? Thanks.

I would complain about all of the dialogue (because I'm impatient) but it's useful dialogue and adds to the characters and story. I didn't expect much at first, but I ended up very pleased with the game. Can't wait for the next one.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh! NO! I want chapter 2 now! If I dont get it now then...then... I will...erm...sulk. Cool game! Cant wait until the next chapter!

I really like the storyline! The puzzles are nice and not hard to solve. A little buggy though. For example, when you are in a scene (not the map), after clicking "menu" and "continue playing", the "main menu" button can still be clicked, although it is not visible. Same goes to the cases where when you're playing with the ratman, you can still select scene items such as the scary door, the head and the skulls. The map at the "north-east wall" can be obtained again, although it should have been acquired earlier in the game. Also, while viewing the "comics", if u keep clicking it will stay black and won't go to the next page. I would like to suggest a feature that allows you to view the previous conversation. Sometimes my mouse is a bit malfunctioning and clicked twice, skipping a page of dialogue. Good luck working on the next chapter and I am definitely looking forward to it!
hey XCLX! We're trying to recreate your bugs, so hopefully when we find them we can easily update the game. That's what happens when thousands of people play a game, some are bound to find some bugs :) I think it's not actually multiple bugs, but only one stupid, small bug you found somewhere that's doing all of those things. Now we need to find it. Anyway, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for playing and liking the game!

Learn to write. Please. I'm begging you. And learn to draw. I haven't played the game, and I'm not going to because the opening storyboards were story bored stiff! I try not to be critical, but PLEASE don't bore me before I even get to the game.

Good solid point and click. I really like hand-drawn art, and I like the mood that this game set. It feels like I feel into an old-school DnD game with a strong plot. I'm looking forward to the next one.

well that was really fun and very nicely made i really enjoyed it, if i had one comment it would be that the amount of dialogue as opposed to puzzles/item play is a lot.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I wish it would scale with Internet Explorer's zoom feature, so that I could read it without hunching over my monitor. Nevertheless, it deserves five stars, and so I grant them. May others do the same!

It's always nice to play games like this. The implementation of puzzles felt natural and the dialogue was spot on; the ratman actually felt menacing. I give it a strong 4/5 stars. Can't wait for the next installment!

Hello people! The makers of The Grey Rainbow bring you another adventure game! If you liked TGR, chances are you are going to like this one. But be warned! It is much darker and more serious in tone, even though touches of humour are present. Enjoy!
