@mfeh
We released this well after Wii Tanks. In our description on the game page you'll notice we do credit Wii Tanks as the original inspiration. Obviously we gave it our own style, though.

If you make a multiplayer version you need to have different types of bullets, like explosive ones. Also I don't care to much for the controls, you should allow people to turn only by hitting left of right and not forward as well.

@Vlax: yeah, the mines didn't turn out so cool. I'm not sure how best to improve them. Maybe make the blast radius larger? In either case, I doubt we'll be making any updates to it. Unfortunately this game did so poorly for us it was a bit depressing, so probably no more updates.

I believe that mines should be improved upon a bit, after numerous playthroughs I only ever used them to achieve the 'Miner 49er' award, maybe I suck at using them properly but I just never got kills with them. When I tried using them either they blew up before an enemy got close or the enemy would just shoot them, the only use I see for them is killing an enemy that's close by on the other side of a small wall because the explosion goes through the wall but that is also a rare occasion. With skill and practice you can win almost any level without being in danger by bullets alone, the levels that don't apply to this throw you into danger straight away where mines would just add to your problems or you're against stationary targets that ricochet bullets at you.

This game is absolutely brilliant. I especially liked the humourous and extensive list of awards as opposed to the usual boring "you have killed 50, 100, 1000 people etc..." 5/5 and I don't usually give that score

We have a different game in the works right now, but a multiplayer version of MicroTanks may be in the future. Would be fun to do.

Nice to see this changes :) I failed in Level 23 in normal mode. In free mode i have beaten the last level (36) after a few trys.
In the last levels it is really hard because there are to many bullets at one time and the enemies are professionals.

@taised : it wasn't really a bug, but rather a typo. The "Bank Owner" award was supposed to be for 100 ricochet kills. Sorry for the confusion. I have since fixed the typo and uploaded the correction.

I see a bug: in the stats is written
Enemy tank killed with a ricochet: 59
But I haven't the award Bank Owner.
Good game anyway :)

Perfection award sucks! I've made it to the last few levels multiple times then die ONCE, I even died ONCE for the 1st time ever on the last mission because I forgot about a tank that ricochets bullets at you straight at the start, every time I'm on mission 28+ and die I just go ahead and complete the game which is why I've completed it so many times, I can complete the game every single attempt now but doing it without dying once is bad.

Not only did BlueMonkeyFlash reply to my comment, but the FreePlay mode i suggested was actually created. They truely are a classy developer.
The game is great and i had some truely epic battles in the later levels. (try passing them in FreePlay with no upgrades) The environment also has a very nice feel. Sure the game has its small flaws but it doesn't detract from the fun enough to bother me. The game is also lag-free thanks to the updates. Great job BlueMonkeyFlash

New FreePlay mode available.
You may replay, or continue, any level that you have reached before.
In this mode you are not limited to 3 lives. You may play each level as many times as you wish until you complete it, thus unlocking the next level.
Because of the easier nature of this mode, some stats and awards will not be recorded.
Thanks for the suggestions.

I've killed 214 tanks yet I don't have the kill 100 tanks award, nothing to do with clearing stats either because I only did that once after doing the 1st couple of levels.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
yeah totally, it would be more fun if it was lie a hunter game... but as it stands, your tank is shot right when every level starts.. that's not fun

I didn't have any bug/lag issues. I think the real world idea is pretty cool, seems like it would be that much better if the tanks were pictures of a real toy tank too. 3/5 for the idea and the backgrounds.

BlueMonkeyFlash at had the class to message me, so I gave it another shot. Game seems more stable after update. At the very least, when there is lag it is localized to times when you aren't in the game. I still randomly drove off the map once, but for the most part it is calmed down. Unfortunately nothing else was changed. Trumpet is still irritating, play is still repetitious. I mean, levels 13 and 19 are literally the same level. Beating the enemy is merely shooting at them more times than they shoot at you. This could have been addressed by upgrades that were actually interesting, but instead you get to choose between be more shooty or be more dodgy. The difficulty is increased by dropping you in front of a firing squad, or giving them the exact same types of upgrades you get, which just boils down to shooting at them more or needing to move out of the way faster. This game's been around a long time, and this particular rendition of it doesn't do anything new or interesting.

No technical problems so far, but I didn't play for long. One thing, however, I'm sure about: It's a cute idea, and a lovely setup.

Ok, I have uploaded a fix for the lag issues some have been experiencing. Most of the stats are being sent at level end now. Please, give it another go and let us know how it's working now. Thanks!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Perhaps we took the Kongregate suggestion to send stats as often as possible a bit too literal. Sending a single stat should not slow the game down...however, this appears to be the case for some players. But please be patient...for a solution we are indeed working to change it so stats are sent at end of level instead of during the game. Hopefully this should alleviate some of the issues some have commented on. Stay tuned and we'll let you know when the fix has been made. Thanks.

Boring. Repetitive. Slow. Buggy. Ugly. Repetitive. The quality level of this game existed ten years ago. Nothing in this game is new, and every aspect of this game has been done better by someone else already. The only thing interesting abou this game is pondering what sort of deranged moron would use the sound effects they chose. That trumpet and the "wheew" noise (slide whistle?) are painful. As an added kick in the nuts, if you run out of lives you have to restart at mission 1, and honestly replaying even one mission isn't worth anyone's time. This game is terrible, and BlueMonkeyFlash is terrible simply for having their name attached to this turd.

I tried my best to play passed the lag, but I just couldn't do it... Sorry, this seems like a really nice game, just a shame about that horrible lag... If you sent the stats after each death, or after the final death, or after each level (or a combination of any of those), that would be much better - you meant right with sending everything as necessary, but it just doesn't work.
