I've found it better to just zerg every battle. Ignore the defense stat, its useless. Focus on attack, and push as secondary, spawn all your units in the top row and just charge through the enemies in a single file to kill them off before they can reach your defenses. Use the bombs (ice especially) to slow down the enemies if needed.

@doomday83 just max push on the spearmen then spam alot of them in one place, then activate a frost bomb, then activate their power, if you have enough they punch through that one spot and win the level in seconds

The game did seem unforgiving at times (each wave sent stronger monsters and your characters only leveled up when you won) but overall the game was fun. Interesting gameplay mechanics but not enough items to buy meaning very little customization options so I give it a [4/5]. Hoping for a sequel.

Honestly after the first few matches of trying to meet and greet I found sword / spear were a bit OP'd. Once you have high energy regeneration you can just spam them all in one spot (top or bottom) rush them over, use 1,2 on the main enemy group. 4 on the front, followed up by 3 and then 5 if you have it. spawn troops again with some in front of the enemies as body blockers and then click the groups to rush them across. Little to no effort really.

I really enjoyed this game. I thought it had a fantastic setting and control scheme. Excellent balance and it was fun to see how things changed as you progress. Great game!

good game, but I found the spear men were incredibly under powered, they get pushed back a ton by every unit and have very little health, I tried everything, but they end up getting defeated in battles and end up under leveled. It may just be me, I don't know.

This game is a pain in the keister with the slightest amount of lag. Bombs become undraggable. Can't even click on them. Half the time when you click, the game pauses because it can't figure out where the mouse is. If you're going to play, make sure you close ALL of your other tabs. I've got a hexacore computer, and this game is still junk with just a few tabs open on Chrome.

Pretty easy, fun enough tho. Pity the game favours only blitz rush tactics all the way through to and including the final boss.

oh how I love games like these 8-bit adventures that start off really well for me until those two words every gamer dreads to see "GAME OVER" appear right in the middle of the damn screen as if I didn't know that all three lines were knee deep in monsters all of which would come to my castle and beat the shit out of it until nothing was left but pixelated ash oh well its still a good quality game that I would recommend to anyone whose in just as much love for 8-bit games as I am

This game is quite easy. As long as you get the hang of using bombs and the abilities, you could finish the game in regardless of what stats you choose to upgrade. I found it especially easy when I spread the stats equally.

I wish there was info about the enemies like there is for your characters. It makes choosing which hero to put where kind of trial and error..

make sure you don't mess up in the first few rounds. My spearmen are useless now because I couldn't level them up in the first few rounds.

I actually think this was a great way to spent ~1hr of my time - The gameplay is fun, and when you wanna win you can easily do so :)

AtrixBot has it a bit wrong. If you developed your units according to their starter stats, spearmen will be the best choice for the final battle. Their push will be extreme, drop bombs to take care of suiciders. Mages will need a lot of beams to take down the "basic" guys in the final stage. Also, mages are good in the TOP row which has the suicider units, not the bottom row which gets mages of their own. Mages work fine for any row though, if used well, but spearmen do not do as well in top row. Defenders are the easiest option, they require the least attention/micro, just spam units/ability/bombs.

NOTHING would make this game better for me. It is amazingly perfect! Simple, fun, easy, and just short enough to not be grindy, but long enough for me to thoroughly enjoy it. Make a sequel!!!

Winning Tactics: Mage - launch a first wave as front line then shoot beams of death from behind with second wave. Spearmen - Spawn a bunch in half of the lane and a few in the other half.

A really fun, cute game. My only complaint is that after everything is bought, the game becomes really easy; a rush strategy pours victories. The final boss ended up being one of the easiest battles for me due to this reason; I guess if the idea was as a reward so one could "ride through triumph" this is a good structure.

Great game. I don't really see much of a point in improving this one in particular, but for your next game consider adding more of a plot in there. Other than that you could just improve on what you have. More items/upgrades, better skill tree. The only problem I have with this game is it has a lot of animations and sometimes my computer can't keep up with it. So consider a option to reduce animations? Background animation, and ect. The plot isn't exciting, being that it's almost non-existant, gameplay is great though, could certainly use more features. Eh. I'd rank it at 3.5/5, so I'll give you a 4 to be nice.

Once you get your upgrades, the key is to spam all your units on one spot and just jam them through with their abilities and bombs. Can defeat each level in seconds.

Nice fast paced, simple game. The unique battle system is lovely, but leaves little room for challenge. And if you don't switch around what makes it's charm. A sequel would be little more than a level expansion pack. The battle system only revolves around unit concentration, unit power, and splash damage. That means the obvious tactic is to concentrate units, to maximize special skill damage per mana click, to use bombs for splash damage, to delay, and destroy enemy splash. Playing well is easy when you know what to do, and the only true way to augment battle difficulty is to make foes stronger, which would only be gruelsome. For a sequel, I would suggest adding to out of battle strategy and involvement, and making a special boss battle or something, unless you change the battles altogether. Still a nice short game though.
