Gotta love when people say the game is bad, just because they can't do logic correctly. Although the clues are horrible, vague, and ambiguous.

I really don't get this game. It seems like your AP just gets lower till you can't play. I mean you need 3 to get clues, but you only get like 1 AP, what am I missing?

Thank you for this addictive game! I needed some time to get the meaning of all the hints, and this is what makes it fun! The randomly given AP are also a great help.

You just don't give us enough to start with, particularly on later levels. Physical clues that are vague and/or apply to over half of the suspects and clues that mean nothing without questioning suspects amount to a lot of guesswork at some point. You give us a stock of AP to use through all the levels, but it still boils down to only being able to use 3 (or fewer) AP on a single level to avoid running a deficit that will very quickly catch up to you.

There isn't enough clues to point to a person. The eye-witness clues are vague, and at this point, it's a guessing game amongst which person. ><

There is no surprise on all "game is hard to understand" comments, seeing how half of the recently popular games consists of idlers. A fun little game.

I want to like this game so much but it's so poorly explained and executed. The characters' descriptions are never explained thoroughly so I don't know what to look for as a descriptor.
I'd keep the idea and try it in a different way.

Is there a bug ? When i get green pointed clues they don t fit to any of suspects a when i m making the wrong choice the real guilty does not exists.

I have to agree with other posters; I love the idea of spending AP to unlock clues and things, but there's too much of a punishment about it. I do want a sequel, but maybe have a Par system, like you are allowed to spend X amount of AP investigating and still get the full bonus for the next level, if and for every 1 you go over you lose 2 of the bonus. Getting stuck with 2 AP and a lot of suspects just gets you into a vicious cycle where you have to narrow down and guess.
This isn't a condemnation, again, I like the game and will keep coming back to it, but when I've got three fat guys with round heads, all who "should be settled down by their age," I feel a bit against the wall and am forced to spend my few AP and then guess.

I don't remember if I forgot to post this yesterday or what, but here we go: http://pastebin.com/28XXqg8Q . And quick note: it's really bad that some things are not the same, like "foody" and "fat" or "shy" and "introvert", and don't even get me started on the age descriptions. It's not that much of a "learning curve", but rather a "trial and error wall". Well, the pastebin lets you jump over it and see how easy the game is when you actually know what it's saying.

It's just bare luck if you win a case or lose it. The visual clues are useless. What a shame. I love detective games.

As previous users have mentioned, it feels a little bit more like blind luck that actual investigative skill. Increasing the AP would make it easier, but I think the game needs to look at the questioning mechanics and expand upon that. Imagine if the player could question 3 people each round, but AP was used to unlock more? Each character's clues about the murder could be more or less reliable, but if you get two people who agree then it's more likely.

Feedy trait is not working correctly cause it doesn't show in guilty winkle's description. Also not really clear how the colour codes work in suspect's descriptions. And it's a bit strange that you didn't make any hair colour, glasses/eye patches and smoking related references. Those would more likely catch the eye and nose than someone's profession.
Otherwise a nice game with good sound.

This is nice but a few thoughts, a bit to reliant on what I can only assume is British vocabulary for an American in the audience (football? ours or yours or rugby?) for example. Also an ability to skip the tutorial and/or post arrest dialogue would be great

I think i kinda starting to understand the game..
You have to take time to discard as much winkles before to start asking questions. - 20 streak and 15ap Remaining
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It needs more action points..
at third level.. saving some AP you have one question and have to arrest a man... its crazy dificult

So, I'm far from being a pro, just started a few cases ago but I actually have 15 AP at the start of my fourth case, don't really know how or why. Whatever. If the description gives like 3 mental behaviours, don't search for people who not have at least three question marks to fit the description. Try to save AP on first cases with few suspects, and if you can try to solve it with no question to gain lot of AP.

So, this could have been a cool game. The artwork is interesting, the premise is interesting. The one thing they forgot to do is: MAKE SURE THE CLUES ACTUALLY LEAD TO SOMEONE! 1 star.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Yeah I think the developer should remove "football-shaped" since they seem to think soccer is called that, and just say "round" or "oblong".
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
better detective puzzle game - Clue Sweeper. You also start as Novice and with solving cases you can buy tools that give you more action points or info about suspects
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It's a nice game, but I feel that it doesn't want me to play it. I managed to get to the third round (barely, with a fourth clue), and I actually only get 1 single clue to work with on that third round, and 10 people to work with.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Great game/concept. Really expected more. There was a lot done for the development of the game. But the clues just confuse me way too much. Its either i get it from the get go, or I get it wrong because the descriptions seem to fit, but have another meaning.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Fun idea, and needs balancing - make it so that one could reasonably figure out who the culprit is without guessing within the amount of AP given. Distinguishing more clearly between "average body" etc in the artwork would be helpful

football = soccerball in many countries I believe, since american football isn't very commonly played outside of america
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I'm sorry, but when the clues are so bad that you can only guess the culprit every single round, the game just isn't fun.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I actually like it that this game takes some skill and attention to details as opposed to mindless clue matching; I find it really fits the detective theme. To the people complaining about how few AP you get, try to really pay attention and use the clues to their full potential; even in higher rounds you rarely need more than 1-2 AP and then you should have 10+ stored up for that one REALLY bad round.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I'm assuming that "football" means American football (otherwise he would just say ball, right?). The thing is, none of there heads look pointy. Some do seem to be like squares with rounded edges, though. I'm assuming those are what are considered "football" heads. But really most of the physical descriptions suck. The only one I feel comfortable with is the body of a roly-poly. Also, the age questions kind of suck. When does one start to feel old? When does one start to settle down or have a mid-life crisis?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
For the people complaining about not getting past level 2: the first round a guess at the culprit without spending AP. This will give you +3 AP to use for other rounds. Also, if the clues are all visual guess on round 2 also this would put you up to about 10 AP for future rounds.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This seems like it could be good but on the second case we get 4 AP and more than 8 suspects and unless you tell us what kind of head and body these winkles have it is impossible to visually tell them apart.
