After all the years this game was out, I just noticed that your drawings don't attack you until you attack once first. Really nice detail!

Beat the game with no abilities (so no new cards either), no deaths and no stalling (attacked friendly creatures on first round possible)

Tips for getting high combos: (1) Avoid damage cards. Drain them out with other cards by using Sketching and Quick Sketching. Once you find Sketching, you can pass turns until you see another Sketching card to duplicate it. The first enemy is harmless as long as you don't hurt it first. (2) Manipulate your card selection for combos. Curiosity, Inspiration, Muse, and Apple Pie are all very helpful because they add Ideas and draw new cards. Get into a flow of getting Ideas, then using them on card refills. (3) Get lots of Meditation cards. Because Snack Time costs 15 idea points, Meditation is 10 Ideas cheaper, effectively giving you 10 extra Ideas to work with. (4) Use the hotkeys. The current all-time record was before the hotkey update, and I accidentally ended it early (before 50,000) by clicking the "Pass Turn" button. It's faster, too.

I absolutely love this game and I find the art to be absolutely mesmerizing. This game sings very true to my heart because I used to think just like Aisleen regarding my artwork; if my art wasn't perfect, it was useless. I made unreasonable expectations for myself which kept me from drawing for most of my life. It wasn't until I played this game that I realized that as long as I like what I’m doing, it’s not a failure. I gave up on my passion and simply said "I'm not talented enough" in order to justify it. You motivated me to draw again, something I haven't done in years, so thanks for that.
The only thing I would complain about is that the story is incomplete and how Aisleen’s idle animation didn’t change throughout the story. She hides her face during the beginning in order to remove her humanity and feelings but near the end, I’m think she might be plotting some sinister deeds that give her a scary looking face.

Pick one card to keep, crow, wanderer, big guy, I must have 100 of each and im still stuck, how many do i have to pick before i get back to the game? Fighting your earlier art is interesting but the battle system is a little confusing and needs an intro to know whats happening.

This isn't really a bad thing, just noticed something about the RNG of the card drawing. Don't expect cards to be drawn completely randomly all the time. I've gotten over 25 - 50 of Curiosity, Inspiration, Gore, Muse, Meditate and Sketching, and I draw them much more than the others, but not nearly as much as one should considering all other cards amount to 5 or less. Also, Inspiration says it draws an "Idea" (yellow colored, light bulb icon) card, but I've only ever drawn Ambition or Baking, even though there are several other "Idea" cards. It seems to be set up so that the probability of drawing certain cards decreases for certain cards until you pass your turn, by whatever means.

Basically a "click the cards as fast as you can and ignore the boring dialogue" kind of game. The idea of art progression is kinda cool though.

@sirgarbeto
It all adds up... if you throw away your early attempts too soon, then you fail to learn from them, and are only dooming yourself when you undertake bigger projects.

I am very glad this game was badged, it's a fun if short game that has a great idea, interesting enough plot, and solid enough gameplay that a sequel would do wonderfully. The 1 continue option being worked into the badge name was fun :)

Some advice: a card game isn't much of a card game if you can't customize your deck a little. I'm particularly annoyed by having so many Feathers (and Crows) from the outset, basically crippling your deck until you flood it with useful cards to minimize their chance of appearing. I get that just allowing the player to freely change what they want is a bad idea, or it could make the game too easy (having Stab be the only attack card would basically give you an infinite combo, and Writer's Block would be entirely trivial if you could just remove it), but letting the player have some control over the cards would make this game a lot more enjoyable.

After my first crushing defeat, I stayed in the first fight farming inspiration and getting more cards via Quick Sketching. At some point I realized, based on the cards I got, that I was paving Aisleen's way to be a better artist by having her Study, Sketch and Wander, making sure to always stay Curious and take care of herself by Resting and having some comfort food (Apple Pie) now and then.
Also, Stabbing a bunch of people to satisfy her love of Gore. Look, they can't all be winners.

It's a creative concept, but it definitely felt like the only way to win is to not attack a weaker enemy and abuse the 30-idea ability to get a boatload of useful cards. It's not very fun to just keep spamming for useful cards when Aisleen should be attacking.

This is probably a great game and all, but I seriously just randomly clicked on the cards and somehow completed the game with no idea how it works, so yeah. Don't hate me for it, but I'll give this a 4/5 just for the art and story and not the gameplay, since, you know, I didn't understand it.

Needs a "Skip dialogue" button. Not much replay value, though: way to repetitive with no increase in diffitulty throughout the game because more HP does not make the enemy harder, just makes it take longer.

So I have so many curiosity, muse, meditation, and sketch cards that I can just non-stop copy new cards and refresh my deck without ever passing.

I wish I could remove card, like that i would keep only stab and then kill the drawing by spamming hole on the leaf $_$. I don't know if I'm unlucky as hell but the last boss gave me 5 artist block on... 7 hit T_T mummy !!!!(I don't know if unity require programming skill but have you done this game alone ? :o as programmer I ever surrender programming my games because I'm as good as the third draw with my drawing skill :s, and to get some kind of basics sprites on internet it's really hard because of plagiarism on a lot of thing >

to get the easy badge you just need to not use ideas for a few rounds so you can build up to your max, then you can use a snack time if you end up with a bunch of feathers or no cards.

Great game, 5/5 Stars from me! Too bad it took me 2 years before I noticed this game. I'm glad it was a BotD which forced me to notice it. I'll definitely try out the sequel.

correction... 5 minutes of white screen before it starts showing that it might load... Try filling that white screen with the Unity logo or something.
