Realized it's a browser-wide crash as another gaming site was affected, though it's a hiccup for Youtube, if even that. Ever since an update, 90%-100% zoom also shows the game in full, though my screen is small for 110.

I alternate playing between work and home, a week at a time, kong on chrome at work, and the steam app at home. Ill save and email the save files to myself between transitions. I have yet to have any of these game wipe or kong crash issues other than the abysmal layout on kong, which clicking the theater mode on the bottom right fixes some. Hope that helps some of you.

Now it happened again, this time in edge, an alt save, units, resources gone but gears and world stayed. Kong was down when I went back to the Underworld game page, dunno if they're connected. 8,5 day old save Woho

The Kong-wide game-breaking crash happened, this time the game did a reset I didn't do, possibly drowners, as I got the gift from the chest, but it was a run that is over a year and a half old, so I can't just continue, lost 2,5 days of daily searches with it. Maybe it was partial corruption, as Agriels, Ghouls kept appearing due to a contract, or it was a backup of the game.

I dump all of my gears onto what Im focusing on at the moment, and that usually rotates with the free gear resets. If im working towards the demon contracts, Ill put them all onto Boiler C (or A until C is unlocked). Or if im going towards drowner contracts they will all go onto the chest. Just trying to maximize the prestige gain mostly.

What's your preferred combination for gears? I move them from boiler to obelisk but I'm not sure I'm going for the best option here.

@kikhaky im unsure of any other websites that would host the game, but i believe you can download for free from Steam and import your save there which might be more user friendly for you.

NOT ONLY is this new UI just a ripoff of other (worse) (maybe not anymore) sites like CrazyGames, but the new UI is also strictly worse at displaying critical information. Why do I need to scroll past the description to see achievements? Roll back these changes for the good of the site.

Kongregate keeps messing with the layout and now it's worse than ever - the game is cropped. Idk why kongregate thinks it needs to continually rebrand itself, but it just keeps getting visually worse and worse. I've been playing this for a few years and it just keeps getting harder to use. If there's another site we can import saves into let me know.

Has anyone gotten any of the artifacts that give +5 to a resource now and +5 after restart? Im curious about how the "after restart" works. Will it just be an extra 5 after every restart or are they cumulative? Like 5 after the first restart, 10 after the second, and so on...

Yeah im not sure what a gate is. Ive made it to the 3rd page of spells, and have restarted with the magic circle with the warlocks. No gates yet though.

Changing from normal game to the next gate was my biggest regret on the game, it says costs rise 1.3 but in fact it rises 20x what makes the game very imbalanced with a wall that kills the will to play.

I kept it all on the first boiler because it applied the bonus to the amount of waste as well as prestige, allowing for much higher growth in the runs.
Pushing up into the undead contracts helps with the challenges a lot

Not sure why did I swap this early for the second boiler, but I think it gave way more prestige.
I have done a few challenges, but I don't think I'm ready for most of them.
I have that artifact but I didn't know I could use it for that achievement, lol.
I have just activated that setting for the right mouse button.

@marcius Contract Q up in the CEO cabinet focuses on Boiler B. I havent even touched that one yet. Just kept all my gears on the first boiler until it seemed i was bottlenecked by the undead. Swapped over there and did what i could for a while. Once that side is built up some it makes it a lot easier to knock a quick prestige out so the restart from the challenges are not such a set back.
Also, spend the 250 tokens on the artifact that clicks 25 times a second. You almost need it to get the challenge done that rewards you the same feature. You get your 250 refunded. Then go into the settings, interface settings, and check the box to make your right click act as shift+left click. Biggest time saver.....

Rondrian You prestige differently for each faction. At the beginning you will only be able to do it with demons. To do it you must reach 75 hell ashes. When you have them you will unlock something called the boiler (on the faction's tabs). Later on, you will reach 75 on the other factions' equivalents, like bone flour or magic powder (not so sure about the magic powder because it's really hard to reach that amount.)

Game is now unplayable due to a kongregate pop over about ad blockers that I will never EVER turn off for anyone. So, oh well. Bye.

I have a few, but it sucks once you do them because you start with no waste/dark mana. I have a question about the demon contract J. The first level enhances the first boiler. Do the next level or any other enhance the second boiler? I usually just go after the second one.

You're honestly not too far behind me i think, maybe a little over a month or so if i remember right. I generally use the free gear resets to switch up what im farming, moving all my gears from boiler to obelisk and back. Before you know it you'll have enough to pop the chest for the first time.
Dont do what i did and forget about the challenges for a while. Pretty helpful those.

I see. I'm far from that, I think. It currently farming contract points from the obelisk. The bottlenecking seems to come from the drowners, of course, but also from the demons (a little less, tho). But I have all the gears on the obelisk so I'll farm that for a while, then I may go back to farming demons' contract points before trying to get the drowners, which feel unreachable right now.

@marcius along with the prestige, each faction will also give a bonus to a resource upon reset. Once you start opening the magic chest the last rune wont seem as daunting

@JohnCrane I'm talking about the last rune specifically. I don't know if there is a way to speed it up or not but right now it feels pointless to dump so much energy on it.

I'm 6 months into this game. Yes it's frustrating at first that some progress stops offline, but I think that's a deliberate feature - there's eventually a contract/spell/upgrade to resolve every temporary annoyance.
The game is mostly about grinding prestige. I like figuring out how to optimise each run as the game parameters evolve, and it means nothing can ever go catastrophically wrong. At worst you just abandon that run and start the next one, maybe just with less starting waste or dark mana than usual. Apart from tokens everything is fairly easily replaceable, and most things have a use at some stage.
This game takes a lot of patience: but I love the trial and error aspect, and the steady trickle of new elements introduced as you progress. It's also fun flying in seconds through stages that previously took hours or days - very satisfying. The option to export and import saves was very welcome too, when I had to replace my laptop.
