Needs an ending #11 where I use the mallet to destroy the stupid shrine and bonk the genie on the head. Otherwise a great game.

tbh all the offers seemed shady to me like sure the guy can make an immortality potion but why would he give it to me? and why would it require a mallet shady af no?

People are talking about how it's dumb to listen to the spirit in the first place, but I'm pretty sure I'd be too shocked to do anything but listen to the spirit lmao

This game is not about disregarding virtue and such like, is about using your brain instead of mindlessly follow the rules. If you think about it, some random spirit just appeared in front of you and gave you a silly order, without giving you any motivation and not even a hint of what consequences this act will have on you, him, or the community. What if he was an evil spirit? You can't just go and follow the orders, you need to think about what you're doing.

great game!
unlocked ending 10 first - whats that? a cliff? I do remember some guy tempting me with immortality so, why not jump down?

Wife? Who cares. Immortality? Sounds boring. Ice cream? Wait, ice cream? That sounds delicious, take this stupid mallet.

I misunderstood the guy at first and thought that him presenting the golden mallet in the beginning was one of the temptations.

Quick, nice and fun. I unlocked ending #10 first thinking I was extremely clever to even resist the temptation to strike the gong that was presented to me (as was subtly hinted by the shady man). Hilarity ensued.

yeah I kind of too expected in ending where you denied everything, reached the gong. and then be like "Neh!" just turned aroun without hitting it, going home, letting all your deprivations so far have been in vain.
Isn
't that what religious stuff is all about? :-D

Kind of disappointing hitting the gong the first time, but it won me over after doing the other endings. Make the player hit space to pick up the mallet and add and ending where the dummy tries to hit the gong without it. :)

It seems like it's intended that I explore multiple endings. Why do I have to sit through the beginning part every time?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Pfft, I'm too smart for these people, trying to tempt ME into giving them this Golden Hammer of Enlightenment, no sir, I'm gonna do the RIGHT thing and hit this gong, you can't tempt ME with immortality, you scumbags -- oh.

I think there should be an 11th ending where we climb everything but don't strike the gong then return to the Shrine of Fate.

"If you intend to reach the Gong with the mallet, you must resist all offers for this priceless artifact." Okay, so I resist your offer, and I'm scolded for being "lazy" when I'm just following instructions. Jeez louise.

One improvement would be either "S" to skip dialogue or "No" as the default answer.
Obviously the dialogue gets quite repetitive and you can just keep tapping space because you'll accept and repeat endings.

Got my dream wife and had so much fun. Although I was stupid to reset my life thinking it would improve so I divorced her. In the end I walked over the cliff and my life was over.
