Know it won't happen but it would be much better if the directional indicator was a translucent arrow pointing off the ship itself and rotating with it. That way, I'm not trying to correct for my orientation while I'm running for my life.

Cool game. I was enjoying the game, got almost everything maxed out then, boom, locked up and had to reload tab and send crash report, and there is no game save. Kind of a pisser. Anyway, 4 stars.

I like this game, but there are quite a few things that could be improved. My suggestions:
1) Ship classes; having a bigger ship class would have more expensive upgrades but a higher max level, the tradeoff being that your ship would have a larger hitbox
2)Ocean currents - there are already currents, the fact that ships tend to drift downwards, but they should be more visible and in random directions. That way you could use them to your advantage when maneuvering. Voice of Calypso would randomize all current directions.
3) The game NEEDS to be optimized quite badly. The cannonballs in particular are hell on my laptop when there's 200 of them on the screen at once. While it is understandable, editing the cannonball so that it requires less memory would be a massive improvement on the gameplay.
Overall, though, I really like the concept and the execution is pretty solid. My score is 3/5, but with these suggestions implemented I could see an easy 5/5.

"you've just completed the tutorial. you know how to play. but do you have what it takes to win?" really reassures you that the past 2 minutes have been a productive few and that now you will not flop as you steer a ship.

It will never cease to amaze me how my last half dozen crew members are able to fire three dozen cannons at a rate of a dozen cannonballs per second per cannon whilst firing fireworks into a boarding action against 3 frigates and 1 flagship whilst also summoning the forces of ocean devilry to defeat the enemy whilst outnumbered several thousand to one whilst also steering the ship.
As far as I'm aware, each crew member of this ship must be a captain in his own right and have replaced most of his limbs with cannons to maintain such efficiency.

Sticky controls make this game extremely frustrating, which was manageable on Captain, but on Commodore or Admiral level, you have no chance past the first level when you release the turn key, but then keep turning into cannon fire

HERE'S HOW FIRING WORKS: At the bottom left there's a thing that says "Cannons loaded", and to each side an arrow that points upwards. That means the side of your ship that is facing UP is the side that will shoot. You can press V and the arrows will point down, so the side facing down will shoot.
The best strategy is to line up a horizontal shot and then tilt a bit so the side is pointing upwards/downwards, and then fire.

I have no idea where my next shoot goes and only read that I can change direction in the comments. sometimes I can't shoot at all and my ship randomly stops. One would assume that the clouds imply wind but apparently not. So a proper description can fix these issues but until then it's a waste of time for me

Actually this is either a sequel or copy of something so look in the pirate section for treasures or something, the gameplay will be the same

I think it gets a little easy once you get further in the game, I am at the point where my 3 special attacks are so far upgraded that that is all I use anymore pretty much once you use one, it fills the charge on another. between nonstop rockets, calypso when they get close and that cannon barrage, there hardly is a need for me to ever use my own cannons

exactly the same game . something's wrong here

This is soooo much easier than the original. The "spells" made it a walk in the park. This game is a cheap and bad edition of Treasure of Cutlass Reef.

the accuracy bonus REALLY need to be changed! i only get it for the first or second round and after that im only getting 70%ish accuracy meaning tiny to no$ at all... unless im mistaken 70%is pretty good!

Does anyone know why my buttons would be sticking. They just turn my ship round and round and also fire non-stop. Very frustrating

The only ship warfare game where actually shooting your cannons is worse than simply running into them and fighting hand to hand.
