"great skill and a little chance" hmm..perhaps t'other way around since more often than not you can get 1500 points just by pressing "roll"

a well made game for what it is, but this game involves very little skill and is mostly luck-based, which isn't at all fun against a CPU opponent. i'd rather have a good game of yahtzee any day.

This is a dice game and it's real name is ten thousand not zilch. It's mostly played by persons who are in jail or prison. I know because I did 18 months and played this game numerous times with dice made out of toilet paper and water then dried and marked with a stolen sharpy.

Had racked up well over half the awards - close down and come back to play again and discover it didnt save my awards - that sucks big time.

Also... to the game creator... I think calling Reckless "easy" is a big misconception to the commentors... Reckless is easy over a long period of games. But in a 1 game setting, Reckless can be the hardest opponent... as he can easily get points very fast. He also can go 6+ zilches in a row. High variance. Cautious is the most predictable.

Been playing this one on the .uk site, have quite a number of the awards, love this game and I do win more than I lose.

If this is random, than it's more random for people playing than it is for the computer. When for 4 turns in a row, I can't get 300 points to bank, and the computer scores over 2000 points a turn(and this has happened in 3 different games), it isn't very random. Don't get me wrong, I like the game, I think it's just tuned into the computers favor.

This is B.S. The computer is clearly getting more high-score rolls and free rolls and fewer zilches. I can't roll three dice without getting busted, but the computer does it with 2 dice and coasts thru every time? No way it's chance.

As someone with 110+ awards and well over 100 games played... the AI is not fixed, even if it seems like it. You're just getting unlucky in a small sample set. Play 100+ games... I only have about a 50% winning percentage, but that's because I'm either losing on purpose or getting to 9950 and going for 15,000 and wind up losing. If I tried to win every game, I'd probably win 75-85% of the time. I do have to say there are too many awards though. 50 would have been plenty. 120 is just excessive... especially the Gold Plated Zilch Machine.

My game just lasted for 2 turns. The computer got a round with 4 extra free rolls for 6k points, and then another with 3 free rolls for 4k. GG!

this game I just played is a perfect example of most my games.
I lose by 5000+, I have 6 zilches (4 of which I got after holding a 1 and rolling the second time, the other one I had 250 after 4 dice and the third one was me trying to not loose at the end) and the computer had 6 roles of 1000+ 1 zilch and four of those 1000+ were in a row.

Scores: me 7850; Cautious 10850.
I rolled three pair, 1 one three times, and then fives three times for another full roll, got a nothing, another nothing, and won by 2000 points.

Been playing all afternoon... seems pretty random and balanced to me. I play a lot of dice games and this one doesn't cheat as far as I can tell. Sorry about some of your luck.

in a game of pure chance where both players are at the same odds of having a "luck" win or a "luck" loss, having an award requirement be consecutive wins is not entirely reasonable. At some point, YOU WILL LOSE no matter how good you are.

The first round I played, I felt like the computer was rigged. I got 3 zilches in a row while it got 5000 points in two turns. However, the following game, I got 7500 points in three turns while the computer got 5 zilches in a row.

game is fairly simple to understand. Just play defensively and don't roll unless you have at LEAST 3 dice left (unless you have under 300 points of course). When the computer gets a bunch of free rolls, it's just dumb luck. The game isn't rigged at all. I've gotten 3000 points in one round before. I win 75% of the time against the hard AI computer.
NEEDS BADGES
idea: Impossible (60 points) - Win a game on the first turn by rolling 10,000 points or more.

I realy enjoy this game and can't wait for the badges. I'm getting all the awards before the badges come so it will an easy challenge :)
could do with a score board on how many wins you've got though

You folks who think this is rigged amuse me. Ever play this type of game with real dice? The results are true to life. I even know players who act like each of the 3 AIs. My 'reckless' buddy can win a game occasionaly by scoring nothing but zeroes and huge payoffs.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The game is not rigged. The computer betters are neither better nor luckier than I am.
Very well done; fun, addictive, good AI. Also, I like the Awards. 5/5. It's a very simple game, but you made an excellent flash game out of it.

The last three times I've gotten a free roll, the computer has gottten a free roll on its very next roll. What are the chances?

For people who are losing their save files, right click the window, click settings, and set the memory to max. That should solve the prob.

ok, again, I say something is up. The computer had -1000, yes -1000 and I was at 6500. Somehow he ends up winning. I don't want to say the dice are rigged but as it has been said by a lot of people here, there seems to be a bias depending on points. I don't know, again, I will only say something smells fishy >_>
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Anyone who is crying about the dice being rigged, they aren't. Oh, boohoo, the computer got 2 1500-rolls back to back. I had a roll over 4000 points and I only rolled 1 time when it wasn't a free roll. Good stuff happen to the computer, it does to you too.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
and for those who say it is random, that is impossible, because computers CAN NEVER BE RANDOM. You can right algorithms to make it seem random, but depending on how you do that and how the AI is designed to play the AI can be rigged, not by the programmers choice, but by error in the code.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
the CPU IS rigged. I played 5 games and have 30 zilches, 2 of which I had 300 to bank, and I played multiple games were the computer would get 1000+ 3 or four turns in a row.

To the people who complain that this game is random: IT'S DICE!! Of course it's random! But a certain level of skill can also be applied.
To the people who think it's rigged: It's not. Sometimes you'll be amazingly lucky, sometimes you'll be amazingly unlucky. It's all in the perception.
To the people who complain about "Realistic" AI cheating: You can also only select one five by clicking on the dice instead of the "scoring box" to select only the ones you want to take.
