I notice the names are plays on band names, are the songs named based on which artist('s song) inspired your bite-sized song, or are they not connected?

I have completed impossible badges that were far easier than this easy badge. Fortunately after serious training, full concentration, zero latency and insane amount of luck I managed to complete 5 tracks in a row. I feel like these game are good and easy for people who have a good rythm and are already trained in playing at least an instrument.

Omfg I just realized you have to complete 5 songs in a row to get the badge of the day... this easy badge is impossible

Honestly, the totally randomized songs feel very frustrating to me. Nothing like starting off your new run with "Through the Fire and the Flame" compressed into 10 seconds. Also makes for some *weird* difficulty spikes.

Lag results in zero notes played and zero songs completed, another game to be given 1 star brought to you by Kong who clearly do not test the games they are badging for botd

I appreciate the passion clearly put into this game but it's hard to get into because of the controls and having to play random, unknown tunes with it stopping instantly when you make 4 mistakes. The XCVB key mode is an improvement, but the displays are still the tangled arrow keys which is giving me a major Stroop effect. Also the key and song pitch seem to be unrelated, so you can't just play the music you have to memorize the key combos for each song.

The divide between Controls and Display is awful. The WASD and arrow keys are NOT in a line on the keyboard. How about a set of controls that are in a line, like ASDF to match their position on screen ?

I loved the latest update! Raised my rate score for that effort. The only thing that I'm not completely sure, is that some notes feel off. Not in sync. In some cases it is consistent, for example the last arrow on "Kate Ruche" song always comes early. But in other cases, the same note can come a bit early or a bit late, not sure if it is my machine or what is happening. Good job!

Having pause on P is very intuative, but having it be on a key that's closer to the ones you use to play, so you don't risk breaking a combo or even failing the song if you need to pause, would be nice. :)

Personally I would love variaton in tempo (and possibly meter?) of the songs! Everything is now at... 120 bpm? I feel variation would broaden the scope of difficulties. On the other hand, the tempo now works as a premise of the game. Changing that might break the flow or be difficult to program...

Lots more songs and song categories (like pop, funk, 8-bit and seasonal) and it would be nice to slow down and speed up songs in practice mode. And it would be neat if you added a mode whare there are decoy notes which would make you lose a heart if you hit them.

The developer responded to all the feedback I had an updated the game. Simply fantastic. 5/5 game and added to favorites from me.
The only other feedback I could offer is to display the song name as its dedicated level starts. So that we can easily find it in the Training tab later. Green Week is by FAR the hardest level haha.
Thanks for the feedback. I've just published a new version, the songs of the levels are now completely mixed, even the most difficult ones! This should lower the difficulty level a bit and allow for a breather between two challenging songs. No more difficulty gap at lvl 21! You can also pause/unpause the game by pressing P, and practice the songs in the training mode!

Yep people aren't exaggerating. It's all peaceful and then suddenly it dials up to 11 at level 21/22 and it's hard to be dextrous enough knowing that if you screw up you have another 10 minutes of repetition before you get back to the hard stuff, with no way to practice. Bouncing out.

is it weird how when i play with my right hand i'm more accurate but when I mess up I can't recover, but when I play with my left hand I mess up more often but can immediately recover

how about coins, perks, or any upgradable things on speed, slow time skills that help level 21+ easier, I'm not grinding without being able to practice those

A fun little game, reminds me a bit of Kongregate of old. Finally a non idle game to get badged.
Level 21 sudden difficulty spike is a bit too much in my opinion. No pause button. No level skip. Hopefully a future update will address some of these.

I know the songs are only a few seconds long, but the fact that there is no level skip and/or pause button is ultimately what kills it. You don't get better -- you screw up, then get frustrated while going through twenty much less difficult songs to get back to where you were, and by the time you finally do, you've been left bored and now your edge is gone. For such a simple game, that's one hell of an oversight.

This is fun, and I like that it really feels like "playing" the song's melody.
I do think there should be an option for displaying other controls than the arrows in big icons at the bottom of the screen. Also a game where music is directly linked to gameplay should in my opinion have a volume setting.

Pretty good but the huge spike in difficulty right near the end is really off-putting, especially when you can't practice stages you're having trouble with. Instead I just end up going through 20 really easy stages and getting pummeled immediately after which isn't too fun. Really like this concept though

Super fun, but stage 21 of level 1 is a crazy spike in difficulty! I know it's different for the genre of game, but would it be at all possible to have an accessibility option for four keys side by side rather than using WASD or arrow keys?

not bad but i personally prefer quality over quantity songs, though the short songs aproach is unique and a lot easier for solo devs like yourself. Could also do with a delay slider, as I found i would hit notes in time to the beat, yet still be way too early. If this was implemented, note timins could be more harsh in general, maybe in a "hard mode" or something simular. Great game nonetheless and excited to see how it progresses :D

I liked the more difficult songs, but arrows get too smooshed together to reliably play them. Something like a hyperspeed setting on GH would be greatly appreciated.

I like the game, surprisingly intuitive on my first playthrough. Song #21 or 22 of the first level seemed like a massive spike in difficulty.
