Everything is good. Absolutely perfect! Graphics are quite good for something simple, sound is spot-on, difficulty just right. The only thing it lacks is replayability. :D

I really enjoyed this. Then again, I prefer puzzles. I gave it 4/5 because though the music is beautiful, it surely did get repetitive. And it really does remind me of Orisinal!

What a wonderland! Fairy-tale style just like Orisinal ^-^ I was greatly appealed by the game design and bg music ~ hope for new release ^^

this game is really... well, beutiful. the music is really nice, and the concept is great. if only the rest of your games were as good as this and free.

Very well done. All those angles must've taken a long time to figure out. The music was sad and beautiful at the same time. I'm good at puzzlers, and this one kept me thinking the whole time. Actually, it almost sparked out my brain. 4/5

Really the only way to win is by trial and error, it takes hours without the walk through. I gave it a 2/5 for the atmosphere, which is pretty nice.

this is probably the best puzzler on this site the people who are saying they hate it dont really like puzzle games i must say and the way it all works out this mustve taken a longggg time to make 5/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I hate this game. Basically trial and error even when you can figure it out.
In not going to try to complete it even with the walkthrough.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It's a good idea but it's just so damn hard. It's pretty much impossible to use reason to determine where to place the star, and the placement needs to be so precise in the later levels.

I agree with jjhomeslice. I had to use that walkthrough, good one by the way, and the game took forever. Everybody, take 15 minutes out of your time and do the walkthrough, it's basically a free 30 points.

Giving the mouse a respawn origin wouldn't necessarily work. The actual cursor would be in a different place then the in game cursor, so if you'd have problems 'cuz you'd keep moving your mouse outside the game.
Anyway 4/5. It'd be neat if there were different music tracks, although it's not a huge deal. Also, there could be an easy and hard mode instead of an obscenely hard mode haha. Lots of things could be added to this game, but it's pretty sold right now already.

I got stuck right away in lvl 3!!
But I got thru that and was then stuck on lvl 10 and couldn't finish it!!

i understand why people hate this game. its different. sometimes angles are too picky...hitting retry over and over instead of hitting spacebar. if u wanted it so mouse starts in different spot for difficulty...give it a respawn origin.

I bet big dog couldnt beat level 2 lawl, dont listen to him try the game and rate it its pretty awesome love the music btw

Great game. Needs two UI improvements: ability to retry without moving the mouse (although I guess that's part of the challenge), sometimes guide arrows on stars will light up when the shot will not actually hit a star.

Level 50 was retardedly hard. You had to get it at just the perfect angle, unlike every other level where there's a little bit of leeway... but that's why it's a "hard" badge, after all.

well it was fun but frustrating, i would have given it a 5 but it just got to the point where i wanted to tear out my hair! Maby use the keyboard for controlling the shooting star?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
First few levels are enjoyable and on later levels i really want to punch a hole in the monitor after a single pixel means victory or defeat. The music is quite relaxing and if it werent for the trials and errors of it, would get a 5. i give it 4.

After a while, it got tedious. Two changes would improve things a lot: use the keyboard rather than the mouse to position things and it should mark where the last shot came from. It was just boring to try to sit there and make tiny adjustments the way it is.

Interesting puzzle game and you can always just use a systematic approach if you get stuck. Hint: It seems like if there's a spot you can shoot at where you only hit one start, that is almost always the star to hit.

MightyEpson is right. On several levels, there is not a single pixel's margin for error. A single pixel to the right or left, and you lose the level. That's a tiny bit much. It also ramps up in difficulty far too rapidly.

I really hate this game. Problem is, there is absolutely not room for error on some of the levels. The solution is one click between two others on the circle. I'm not sure if that really makes sense, but when one is aiming, one can move the mouse so little that it "clicks." Anywho, I liked the music, it was relaxing.

I think this game would be greatly improved if instead of a fluid start location with the mouse there were discrete increments so you could adjust your next shot much easier.
Having to move the mouse to retry then find out where you just were is very frustrating.
It is quite difficult and fairly arbitrairy even with a walkthrough.

StarShine is a failure.
An initial look yielded a promising anticipation - soft graphics, tender music, intuitive gameplay. Unfortunately, all these nice elements did not sum up into an intriguing gaming experience. As soon as I realized this is more a puzzler of TRIALS AND ERRORS instead of brainpowers, things were starting to become disappointing. One will begin to search the solution by cycling around, and in the end no guilt was felt when it finally came down to pass by consulting a walkthrough. Bad game design ruined a potential excellence. 2/5.

i had gotten stuck on one of the earlier levels... after that it really wasn't that bad. the last level kiiiilllllllllled me though. i finally got it though so i'm happeh.

Only problem I have is with the music... thanks for whoever put the Music Off button in the Settings. I was getting really annoyed.
