Under rating threshold (show) i was on course for winning, but the game is slow and tedious and i just stopped playing. a good start for something, but not yet engaging.

Under rating threshold (show) A lot of obvious small issues that should be improved: - abandon battle - upgrade/dismiss weaker ships - quick boarding - better AI - more variety in combat (i.e. selection of cannon ammo, using grapeshot to weaken enemy crew, so that boarding a stronger-category ship would be a possibility) - range of cannons not shown - nerf critical hits to just do more damage but not instakill

Under rating threshold (show) That was surprisingly fun. It'd be great if there were more too it. Like say, more different ships, different forts with different guns and a lot more immersive things. The pirates were immersive for two seconds until they stole three of my galleons. Either way, It's a great game so far with a ton of room for improvement. 4.5/5 from me.

Under rating threshold (show) I forgot to mention-- the computer doesn't take advantage of the Boarding ability nearly enough. Every time an AI frigate or galleon is near a smaller enemy ship, the frigate or galleon should fire cannon, then move and board.

Under rating threshold (show) The AI isn't smart enough to handle how the game works. It's possible to steamroll the computer from the start of the game, both strategically and tactically. 1) The computer usually attacks and defends with just a couple ships, especially at the start of the game. 2) Even when the computer does defend properly, it doesn't seem to matter, as I just beat 2 galleons, 2 frigates and a sloop with 6 brigantines with some basic tactical sense (e.g. stay out of range of whichever ship you're not actively trying to destroy) and a bit of luck with critical hits. Overall, great concept, but the mechanics could use work. Oh! Also, why are bigger ships slower than smaller ships? It's the exact opposite in the real world.

Under rating threshold (show) Not a bad concept, but way way too easy, the tech trees are a little silly (I mean seriously, who didn't research Frigates and galleons). Being able to build a sloop in the same time as a Galleon is dumb, as is sailing with that unit the same turn I built it.

Under rating threshold (show) The pirate attacks are way too OP. I had 6 Galleons stationed in Cuba with 3 fortresses, yet I lost 2 Galleons? I eliminated the Royals Fleets of Holland and France, yet I lost to a couple scumbuckets who probably have never had proper training? At least make the pirate attacks a battle, instead of an event. That is a little ridiculous

Under rating threshold (show) fun concept, but could definitely use some improvement. especially to the AI. The AI has no sense of tactics what so ever. they just shoot at randomly. The only way to lose ships at all is to criticals. how easy it is even on hard takes quite a bit of the fun out of it for me.

Under rating threshold (show) You can use your cannon, and board a ship in a single turn if you use cannon first, allowing one ship to kill two in one turn. Also you can kill a fortress without damage if you have a 4 movement ship if the fortress range isn't upgraded. sit outside its range (4), start your turn by moving in 2, fire, back out 2. You feel like a dirty frenchman, but its a good reason to keep a +1 movement frigate in the fleet.

Under rating threshold (show) Good idea, but extremely rough around the edges. Could have been a fun game to play for a few hours, trying different tactics and difficulties, but it's too shallow in gameplay for that. And the battle system. Oh, the battle system. It's extremely slow and sometimes the images bug and the actual hitboxes are some squares away from the images. And it's not just that, there is no tactic involved except bring the best ships you have. It's not worthy of recognition in it's current state.

Under rating threshold (show) Galleons are love, galleons are life. When Brave New World referred to floating fortresses, they must have meant galleons. Anyway, great game, albeit very easy if you go straight for the new ship research. I like how tactical combat allows even two frigates to destroy an enemy capital if played right. Uhm, and spain has an overpowered starting zone. That's all.

Under rating threshold (show) An enemy ship tried to board mine via the rim of the map - enemy was on the right rim, my ship all the way over to the left - that shouldn't be possible. Also, sometimes ships aren't where they are displayed but a few tiles off.

Under rating threshold (show) Awesome, awesome game! I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this one. If it was a mobile downloadable I'd buy it. Recommendations: *Be able to see the forts/ships' cannon range. *Be able to sell/sink ships (dispose of sloops once you can afford galleons). *Be able to place forts on the map when you build them.

Under rating threshold (show) One single sloop can eat 3 fortresses for breakfast, as long as no other warship is there... This game is promising, but lack a little bit of difficulty... like not allowing move-shoot-move again. The way it currently is, light ships are OP versus static fortresses. I conquered the whole map in 11 turns with only starting ship models. That said, it's technically well made and apart from some ships getting invisible once or twice, I didn't suffer any crashes or bugs.

Under rating threshold (show) I rate this game 3/5 for the following reasons: 1-Bad AI. I did not feel challenged, and only lost a handful of ships. The AI is bad at the tactical level especially-not moving after shooting, not boarding in clearly advantageous situations, etc. 2-Bugs. At one point, I saw an AI sloop leave the border of the map. In reality, the ship was on the map, but appeared one tile left of where it was. This happened to my ships as well. This is not the only graphical bug. This game has a lot of potential, but currently almost nothing is in a finished state.

Under rating threshold (show) great game but a couple things: 1. I don't see a difference is easy mode vs hard mode, 2. I think movement and attacks should share action points. It seems unfair for me to move my ship 4 spaces, shoot, and board an opponents ship in 1 turn.
