It's buggy, but it's super fun to play. I don't know why people are complaining in the comments about this. Probably one of my all time favorite games. :)

whenever I try to get the book that's in the room with the mummy princes it freezes on me, I hope you can fix this soon. if it helps I use google chrome
That's a very, very strange bug! What kind of browser are you using? Could you access the developer console (usually CTRL+SHIFT+i and then selecting console) and send us the content to contact@hypnoticowl.com? Would be a great help! :)

I really like this game. Has a nice Zelda feel, but more strategic. I nice chill game.
I'm just stuck on the mummy level because, as said, the game freezes when I get the book.
Strange, are you running the latest version of Palemoon? Or maybe you've got some kind of script-blocking addon installed? Could you access the developer console (should be F12 in Palemoon) and send us the content to contact@hypnoticowl.com? Would be a great help! :)

@Guises: Thanks for the info, that was another consideration is how much more game there was. Presumably you have the spell so I'm guessing this is a browser (Firefox) related game freeze

I am sorry but the concept is killing me. So we have a wizard who cant hit any harder (same damage at least) with a spell than any of the monsters, can move less spaces than any of the monsters and has the same amount of health as most of the monsters...then to boot the spell casting controls get tiresome after the 10th or so death, a simple miss click or off calculation on a direction of a corner spell can ruin an entire run, and then dying to the final monster to have to restart again make this game beyond silly and frustrating. I did try to like it, I even played till the skeleton maze and put in a good 10 wipes on that but it is just not worth it. 2/5 because you have good ground work for a what could be a much better game.

@MikeSF: the spell that you get from the mummy queen is fantastic. It's a blood spell that lets you cast multiple times per turn (up to four spells / turn for three turns if you max it). The thing is, the game is almost over at that point so you're only going to end up using it maybe a couple of times. So with that in mind, don't worry about it. It will make the last level easier, but you definitely don't need it.

Love the game, but you need to fix that bug with the Mummy queen/whatever where you grab the book the game freezes. At least let us know what spell it is, because I want to continue playing the game but the lack of going back to old levels to get stuff makes me not want to just ignore the book.

DarienV: Click on a vampire to see their range of movement. If you don't have the game muted, you will hear a sound when they move. You need to keep track of where they are likely to be (helps if you use at least 2nd level ice breath when they get close).

Really liked it, but ran into some bugs. It doesn't work on Kongregate at all for me, doesn't even load. Was able to play it by going to hypnoticowl.com but it had no audio. Still, was fun. Just would have been better with sound.

A few levels in and loving it! The spell system is clever, the different difficulty settings make it possible for people like me who aren't so good at these games to get through, the story is interesting. :)

Goblin warrior is quite suicidal. When it got blocked from you by a foe, use freeze multiple times. The blocked goblin will try speed itself (losing 1 hp everytime) again and again thus kill itself.

5/5. Just finished it and absolutely loved it. The story line, the unique take on spell casting, the strategy and the fights. I only came across one bug, the mummy spell book one, which makes me really curious what spell I missed out on. But the game was good enough to keep its 5 score.

The spellcasting system is novel at first, but after you have to rerun a dungeon for the 5th or 6th attempt, it gets real old and you'd rather just have a button function for casting

As neat as your casting system is it's boring repetitive i would rather have a button to cast the spell i wan't instead of accidentally casting the wrong spell every second time. it's slow.

To be more specific, with (my) IE, I just get the grey screen (4pm PST 8/21/14)... My connection says it is dormant, so I don't think it's just taking an inordinate amount of time to load. No script or ad blockers.

Nice game, but won't load in IE. Attempting to get book behind mummy princess freezes the game (using FireFox, Adept level game (haven't tried the others) -- obviously I'm not the only one having that problem).
The mummy spell book bug is fixed now! :) To reload right-click on the game and select "This Frame" > "Reload Frame"
The game should also now run on IE11 :)

Hmm.. To be honest, I really like it! It's such a nice change, I mean it :)
I gave it 4/5.
Here's why:
I'm not a very good player, so I tend to die a lot.
I am currently stuck on the graveyard level with the skeletons and I can't clear it.
So I think that it should be possible to replay levels in order to gain experience points, to make the upcoming levels a bit easier.
Upgrades are always a plus, too.
I hope that you don't just jump into your next project. I like this one a lot and I think you can do great things with it :)

For those stuck in the maze: Freeze will navigate around (multiple) corners. So will shock. Try freezing someone around the corner(s) and while they're frozen or slowed, you should get 3 free whacks on them before they can reach you
Yeah, fullscreen doesn't work, because it's integrated via iframe by Kongregate. Sorry about that! You can play it on our website, where it will also be scaled to your screen size.

Hrm. The maze is quite difficult it seems. No matter what combination of spells I use (and I've saved ALL my gems) I can't seem to break through.
The trick is to lure the skeletons with Magic Arrow, freeze them when they are 2 tiles away and finish them off with Shock. Check how far they can walk (by clicking on them) and position yourself so that you've got enough time to wear them down. :)
Oh man, that's a bummer! The game is capable of scaling to your resolution, but the way it's integrated into Kongregate prevents that. We can only change the size for all players and we don't really want to make it smaller for everybody. So, I can only suggest to visit our website and play it there, sorry!

This game is such an unique and beautiful looking dungeon crawler. I really love the spell system and that these spells offer you many different tactics to beat the levels. To make it short: this is a game worth playing! Tip: Begin the game with Novice difficulty, because the game gets challenging pretty fast. 5/5
What browser are you using? Are you using some kind of script-blocking plugin? Should you have used IE try reloading, that should be fixed now. To reload do a right-click on the game then select "This Frame" > "Reload"
