Realy Great Game! But the UI needs some rework. Selecting the troops is very uncomfortable, there need to be an easier way - like double clicking on them for selecting. And if you could make your own sets, with tropps+heroes+equipment - that would be awesome! Amd there needs to be a continue button after you killed the last boss - hadn't had all the buildings when I finished it for the 1st time. Well, and there is something I don't get: I have now all the buildings, all the research and everything - but in the tropp menu, there are still 2 empty spots - how do I get them?!
Ah - and save the settings for the music - I hate to mute the game every time I start it again - or just reload it (because of the last boss).

On The Quest "The Reflecting Pool", i send 200 Archers, 60 Henchman, 40 Healers, 40 Berserkers, 40 Succubi, and 40 Scrappers. Leader = Mina with a Butterfly Pendant. Items = Antidote, Medicine, Rope, Herb Guide, and Buckle Armor. on the Quest return i get the "Found # returning with#" message but i also get a message saying they found some Mushrooms. After 3 quests i went from 0 Mushrooms to 38. And on one of those quests the troops failed to read the guide. Did not work 100 percent, only seems to work when the Herb Guide works.

I really like the game, but I am not starting all over. Rating changed from 3/5 to 1/5. If you're going to make a long, time intensive game, make protecting save-files a top priority. As far as I am concerned after testing, your game is broken.

Dude, I played this game for at least 14 hours the past two days. I come back, and all of my progress is gone. I am sorry, but I have too change my rating from 5/5 to 3/5. I have to start all over because you can't protect my save file? Absolutely unacceptable!

Battle Report- "Saw a Succubi Warrior rip a Troll in half...." Ok let me go on record as saying that is awesome. The resource gathering is really slow, and i had a hard time understanding the quest, a lvl 11 quest was giving me better rewards the higher lvl quest. No profit in selling your goods, i tried to sell 5k wheat and it just was not worth it. But over all Loved the game, the different units and the reports when you fail a mission giving subtle hints as to why you failed. Watching my town grow and deciding what extra gear to take with me to make the difference. All of it was great, only really complaint was the painfully slow resource income that did not seem affected by the tax rate at all. Oh and the black screens that pop up that freeze the game preventing me from walking away and letting resource pile up LOL.

2 things: can there a way to stop the foundry changing my iron into gold as it is really annoying having to buy iron when I need it for quests and more expensive and why is stone worth more than a lot of other resources?

I am having so much fun! XD, but could use some more detailed logs, Its very hard to tell if you are barely making it or overkilling em. how many turns the battle lasted would help a bit. Anyway... what this game really needs is to remember your battle settings, is quite anoying to pick em again one by one on each quest... just changing that will be a HUGE improvement. If that is imposible, then make it so double click will add em to the party.
i have to say that i really enjoyed this game and will give 5/5 but it will be so much better with these little tweeks.

"M'lord, we send 500 Bridgaders to the field, a handfull were poisoned and died. Oh well, only 500 of them returned." ... ...ok?

It's a great concept, and it's very obvious you put a great deal of time, effort, and hard work in it, but it ultimately falls short just based on some very simple things.
As others have mentioned - selecting units is tedious.
Quests are alright, but it'd be nice to have a way to keep track of the ones I've completed and not completed.
Higher population should give a higher yield of resources, but it doesn't currently.
other than that, it'd a great game 3/5

How about some hotkeys for the troops when sending out on quests?
Also, a hotkey to 'select all' for each troop, such as spacebar, would be nice on the troop confirmation screen. I'm not nitpicking, it's just that you modified my mouse cursor for the game, so it lags a lot, making quests seem a bit tedious to perform.

I almost didn't try this game because of the low rating. I am glad that I did! This game is really well made. I don't understand the low rating? I guess the game seems too much like schoolwork to kids. Anyhow, great development! An easy 5/5!

Am I stupid or something? Can't seem to get any lumber to start building anything with, and I can't trade for it. How are you supposed to get started? Did I miss something?

The size and type of font is hard to read, there is a lot of text, reading should be easy. Also, the start is hard and too complex, you should start with some basic structures already, like stone and cooper mine and lumbermill (also, some descriptions ask for wood, and others for lumber, check that, its misleading)

One thing I noticed, it's hard to know what type of place you're going to quest in (mountains, wilderness, etc.) This would be a nice update

This game has many nice features, but they are only features.
Every existing game feature is good: Battle reports, city map, resources, buildings, spells, research crafting, heroes, unit types, different abilities and different quests.
But the non-existing things make the game half-baked. It seems that most of the battle features (units, spells, items, abilities, heroes, items) were wasted. Battles were always dumb force with me winning the 1st time. Battle logs helped, but not much.
Some common resources are too scarce (iron).
The worst part of the game was the troop selection screens.
The theme was too dark. All icons were illegible. Building names are unreadable. I've spent couple of minutes searching for the black cross which closed the black event window.
The adviser was fun, but useless. He should have been telling the about the events (instead of the black modal windows).
Overall, this is a heap of well-done promising parts which weren't glued properly to make a game.

How do you create new units??? Im trying to make archers but after building the archery range and the ranger guild i still cant train archers...

Getting enough mushroom is just pure pain, please increase the random chance of finding it in during the quest. The wizard's court costs 50 mushrooms which is nearly impossible. Also resource production needs to increase at least 10 folds at lat game since construction requirements is just too high. Still manage to finish the game, but in the end it was just pure grinding. Please up if you agree.

Very enjoyable game. Some things I'd like to see addressed: 1. Where on earth do you get mushrooms or pearls? 2. I've no idea what 'obstructions' are or how any of the actual mechanics of the quests work; it's not just a guessing game but it remains just about invisible to me. 3. You might consider sorting researched items by type. 4. It would be lovely to be able to hire more than 1 troop at a time.
Despite the critique, I'm having a great time with this game. Thanks for making it! 4 stars and favorited!

So this game suffers from a serious issue... Very very few resources... What I mean is, I can make a ton of Ale, because there are 2 things to get it... but I can only get a little iron. I can't pay for a mine extension? the pick axes can't double the production? *sighs* This game needs balance... It looks fun, it really does, but there are mistakes that make me wonder if anyone play tested this game.

I was confused by the absence of Lumber in stock for building things, which would give me Lumber. If in the trade menu it was actually called LUMBER and not Wood, I would have had a much easier time.

I haven't found a single smithing recipe... I wish there was a way to discover them other than tedious trial and error

wow lvl2 quest too easy not enough reward lvl4 quest ... wipes out 30henchmen and 30 of the other ones ??? WTF ... game would be great for not the TOOO high challenge in the start dnt get me wrong i like a good challenge but stuff like this dsnt hold much interest

The game has depth. It's not completely polished, but it's very good. It kept me entertained for 6 hours, which is an eternity for Flash games. There are some rough edges, such as: (1) Wood costs way too much to purchase, (2) Resource collection is slower than I'd care for, but that's what led to the longevity so it's a tough balance, (3) I'd really like to have quest "teams" which includes research items. It just takes too long to assemble a quest team. (4) Because of [3], I just stopped doing quests and built my city instead. That led to smithing being kind of bizarre. I'm assuming at some point during quests you get recipes or something because otherwise there would be over 11000 possible recipes in a 15 choose 5 combinatorial calculation. That's a whole lot of clicking.
All in all I enjoyed the game and would probably rate it in my top 25 Flash games I've played. That's saying a lot too because I've played a whole lot of them.

Loving this game for the most part, save for some obvious design issues.
Having to re-select the units for the quests manually and no real in-game help being the most annoying ones.
Hours into the game I am still not sure where to obtain mushrooms or wheter I'm supposed to guess combinations in Smithing or if there's recipes to find somewhere.
Giving this 4 subjective stars for now, hoping this gets an update.
Keep up the good work!

How about you let us define 1 or more sets of units to send to the quests ? So we don't need to click on them every time.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i dunno if this is accurate yet, but it seems your best bet for resources is income. for instance, should i not be able to generate more than +8 lumber per turn?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
what i really miss is something like a skill tree. Waht do i need to produce to unlock archers e.g. This is still totally unclear to me.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
So, once you've researched tools your iron forever depletes? Every time a turn takes me up to at least 7 iron, my next turn does -7 iron. Had I know this I wouldn't have researched yet because I still need iron to build.

funny game, very nice i like it!! 5 stars
but the sticky-mouse lag meownomnom reports, i found it also, but i have to wait 30 sec or more with pop up screen, until lags.
The troop select!? why icant doubleclick the units, and then i have to say how many soldiers of which selected troop....
very complicate, i think faster would be better there.
ty for nice game

if the quest part, or rather the selecting troops part wouldnt be so annoying, it could actually be some fun.
Atleast allow to select em with a double click.

I hope another Kong user will be able to help you sort out the weird sticky-mouse lag when text appears at the bottom or when hovering over things with pop up menus. I'd much rather be able to play here but for now I'm playing over at your site and so far so good, there's been no sticky-lag yet.
Damn, was really hoping it wouldn't pull that on Kong. Not everyone experiences it, I don't for instance on any of my computers. None of my playtesters did either. Weirdest thing.
