I thought it was a bit too easy, I'd like to see some tweaking with either the enemy placement, ai, or cooldown on your melee attack so that it's actually worth using the scream. I love the story though.

Managed to do a pacifist run of the first level without killing anyone. Then it got to hard. Could be an interesting idea for a challenge maybe? XD
Hello there, probably must be some blocked rights because we're using localstorage in HTML5, I do suggest trying with other browser or avoiding use it in private mode or veryfing if your browser can store data for savegames. can you pm the details? the game tells you when the checkpoint couldn't be saved!
the checkpoints are only local in-game, that means that when you leave the game, it will start a fresh run and that's because the level isn't too long, only 2 levels bro. I haven't suffered any lagg here about that, can you pm me which browser are you using? it is recomended to use Chrome or Firefox.

The game is nice, but the wall jump mechanic really needs some tweaking, as it's too squishy right now, other than that, the scream ability should affect the screen(costing more hearts or simply having more range), since as someone said, it's kinda useless to jump in a horde of enemies to use it, as you'll die quickly while getting there. Also, the sentries fire too fast.
I'd give a 3,5/5, but since I can't and the things I'm mentioning transformed the game from a 5 minute run to probably 12, since they affect the gameplay, I'm giving you a 3. If you ever change those things, I'm coming back to make it a 4.
Keep up the good work
Thank you for the feedback, yea, scream needs some range indeed, but you won't get killed while you're using it since you became indestructible in the process (that's in the tips description, sorry that isn't in-game), I'll see if I can tweak those things this weekend. cheers!

Amazing game. Took some time, but a nice little game to cure my boredom. Great job, oultrox. Make more games, and I will certainly play them.
You gotta go to the right when the last door is unlocked! I'll link you a let's play where he pass to the level 3.

We're sorry you expected something else, the development time given for the game jam this game was for (3 days, we polished bugs and controls after) was really short for us to add alternative content :(

I wonder if a complete pacifist run is possible using deaths. I managed to do an eat-only run and could probably do it deathless but pacifist would be a lot harder. Or maybe even a speedrun
Thank you! I'm glad you liked even tho the controls aren't perfect. I mayl look into a bit of polishing for the game once I finish other stuff, I've been busy! cheers.
Hello there! Thank you for your review! the game was made in 72 hours for a Game Jam, so we couldn't make more levels back then, but maybe soon we will make a comercial version! can you please explain via PM or Bug thread what do you think could improve the wall climbing? that could help me to improve it!

Sooo... What is the thing now? An alien? Mutant created by those mad scientists? Terrible singer on illegal roids? Did you even think about some basic exposition? Also, infuriating controls; wallclinging should have simply been automatic and grab'n eat doesn't work very close.
Code red is a game made in 3 days for a Game Jam called Ludum Dare 37. our little anti-hero is a monster experiment-like and the grab should work getting close with the hand, not the body itself, but it should even work that way! report me via bug if you want give me some tips for upgrading the game! automatic climbing could be one of those ideas I'll implement when I get free tho. cheers!
I'm glad that we pleased you, master. I just love seeing comments like this, that's why I'm always around to thank the people who support the game! cheers bro!
Hahahaha thank you! the game was made for a game jam so, we couldn't make more content back then, but soon we will give some love to the game in a badass new version. I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

This is probably one of the better games I have played in a long time on this website. The art style is very nice and the platforming's solid (when I figured it out). If you are making an improved version of this game, I wouldn't mind playing with an even more powerful creature with more abilities. Grabbing and throwing people is a pretty good idea. Nice game dude!

this is an amazing game. I would buy this for money if a few more levels were added. I think this is great and an amazing concept :D

While I loved the gameplay, the ending was pretty disapointing. I wish the story would be a bit more fun. Nevertheless, this is a pretty ood game.
Hello there and thank you so much for loving the gameplay even if the ending wasn't what you expected! maybe is not for everyone, but still, thank you! the game was made for a Game Jam, so we had to develop the game in 72 hours so that didn't let too much space for ending scenes.

Easily one of the best games that I've seen on Kongregate in some time. Really nice music, decent but not amazing control scheme (wall jumping vs. normal jumping was a bit hard to control at times), simple but really nice story. I think the only things it really lacked were length and some kind of character/skill progression. What did you build it in?
Thank you soo much Cuttle, I'm really glad you liked the game even if the controls aren't the best :), yeah jumping can be difficult sometimes, I tried to promote some parkour platforming along with the climbing, the game was made in 72 hours for a game jam called Ludum Dare and polished for a week. that's why isn't longer bro, we used a HTML5 Engine, Construct2. cheers!

Good game, great game, even. I mean, it's a Ludum Dare game, so obviously there are some things that need to be tinkered if it truly is to be a standalone game (e.g. the scream ability, while interesting, is useless, as the swipe ability just lets you plow through hordes of enemies - there's no real strategic need to ever use the scream), but the game, for what it is, is very good, quite fun, nice and enjoyable to play, etc.
Thank you so much for the feedback! yea, the thing with the scream is that it's kinda an Aoe that makes you indestructible while you're using it,so It may be just fine for some situations where many enemies are near, but yea, you could slash them too! thanks again!
