Hey I was wondering something! Do some of the choices for dialogue change the game? If so, how much does it make a difference?
For example *SPOILER ALERT* in chapter 1 where Aether gives you the choice to be detective or sidekick... Well in Chapter 5, I got reminded of my choice... Does that mean anything?
Same thing for *SPOILER ALERT AGAIN* in chapter 2 when Liza had her secret and you choose to defend her or not... I also got reminded of my choice later on, how much is that worth in the storyline?
Also, something unrelated to my previous questions, but did you get inspiration from Danganronpa? I'm only at chapter 6 but the idea seems similar! However, your game still has its own "fresh" feel to it, it's really awesome! I really feel like I'm Ink and building bonds/hostilities with the different characters! :)

I would have gotten "sort by colors" with a lot less guessing if white was actually white. I kept trying to figure out what goes with gray. Why isn't it white? I get why black isn't true black but... why isn't white white?

*sees the game* Huh, this looks like it might kill a bit of my time.
*3-ish hours later* I no longer feel like anything else in life has meaning.
For reals though, can't wait for chap. 13. and eventually the end (not that i actually want it to end)

The game is great ... just did chapter 12. I look our for it every week now, as soon as it is released! Found puzzle 12 a little too easy after I understood the rules of 5-draw, but the story remains riveting. Keep up the great work :-) .

Hey Percon, you asked me for feedback on the menu slowdown issue. I've tested the whole chapter 10 and never got a single slowdown besides the very start (as i said, the screen all black with chapter name still gives me slowdown. but that happens with every single one) and no, i didnt get slowdown on the "line" scene. Maybe a LITTLE bit during the first "static" but not enough to be sure.
Oh, thank you very much. That helps narrow it down, though unfortunately I'm still not 100% sure what is causing it. I'll be sure to keep an eye out as I continue to develop Exit/Corners.

Okay, so, after spending about 3 hours (I think) playing through the game I am not really frustrated that it didn't save my progress. I was really excited to find out that you released chapter 12 today, and now I can't play it because my entire progress has reset.
Refresh the page - some users have mentioned that it occasionally just takes a refresh.
If that still doesn't work, I have a quick and dirty fix in the form of the catch-up tool, which is available on the main site. You should be able to use it to get your progress back in like a minute or two. Details here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ExitCorners/comments/6r9nbq/exitcorners_version_105_episode_release_schedule/
DM me if you have any questions - I'd like to get you back up and running!

Great game, I love it! but the only thing that bugs me is that you aren't always in control, by that i mean ink says the exact opposite of what you want him to for example (Spoiler ahead) When Liza also coughs up blood like Ink, Aether asks him if they should tell the others about Ink's incident also, but ink refuses even though i would definatly go through with it, I understand that it might be hard to add different options for that, but it would be great if you did!

So far the puzzles are fun, but I'm hating having to click five million times to get through the devastatingly slow text. Having it type out character by character is irritating and pointless. It takes me two clicks for every line.

Do you have any idea why it keeps crashing on chrome? Most times when I first start a chapter I get the "aw snap" message.
Then subsequently I can load the chapter (after reloading the page).
That is... strange. It must be running out of memory when loading assets? It's possible Firefox or another browser might yield better results on your machine (some other users have reported as much).
I'll try to improve memory in future builds if I can.

i totally just noticed that the main screen moves and that's awesome. I feel like once this is all done I'm going to have to go back and play it again just to see all these little things I missed the first time through. Most interesting game I've played in a while. :)

Not sure if anyone else had this problem, but I got up to chapter 3 last night and when I came back today, it started me back at the beginning.

"There were thousands of possible combinations"
There were 5 letters to pick from. Assuming that no letter is used twice (which is in fact the case and the way a normal person would do it), that means there's 5! combinations to pick from. That's only 120 combos! And assuming that you recognize 212 as boiling point in F, that goes down to 60. (The 0 may throw you off, being both absolute 0 in k and freezing point in C, and 33 being closeish to freezing in F.)
Including every possible combination is only 3125, which would take about 52 minutes at 1 combo/second, probably closer to an hour to compensate for distraction and repeated combos.

I had the feeling all the time that there are fami,y relations between the characters in this game in some way. The old women don't know her sons and relatives much which can be the father of our main character or the girls. Good story that make you think about the different things.

I had to play a second time to see if I got to keep the sword in either option. Gotta admit Ink may be in a electronic maze of danger (not physical opponents,) but I can't help thinking I would feel safer with the sword. I don't play poker, but I knew the answer to the puzzle without using any hints. Will have to replay the chapter to get my original choice back and am going to ask for hints this time. Apparently, Liza was helpful. Might get to know her a bit better.

so far the storyline is great and it is totally awesome, one thing i would like to point out is the puzzle in chapter 12.
***Spoilers***
The poker one is easy to solve if someone knows what royal flush means. I did not use any clues at all and solved it in the first go. The previous puzzles based on logic were better, difficulty wise. What can the developer do is to change the language/phrase of the hint to not make it so obvious. Consider this as a constructive criticism/suggestion. I love the game and have been immensely enjoying it so far. Cheers! will be waiting for the next chapter :)
Puzzle 12 is a strange one - a lot of users who don't know poker have been telling me that it's one of the tougher ones to understand!
Glad you're enjoying the game, though, and I hope you enjoy the upcoming chapters.

Very sad, I had to leave the game now I am coming back and I have to start again with chapter one :( The game is fascinating thou
Try refreshing the game - some users have said that their data was gone, but when they came back to it a second time it was there.
If that doesn't work, the catchup tool on the main site should have you covered and will allow you to get your data back in just a minute or two. Details here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ExitCorners/comments/6r9nbq/exitcorners_version_105_episode_release_schedule/

A very very interesting and immersive visual novel. I have TONS of praise, criticism, observations, suggestions, questions and theories, but unfortunately I think I'll have to use a more appropriate forum because this comment section doesn't allow for large texts. Here, I'm only going to comment on the main factors that affect my rating. I usually don't rate games before I've finished them, but I'm going to make an exception in this cases since apparently it's going to take very long for the complete game to come out. I see a major flaw in that the game's mechanics are not aligned with its purpose: I am rewarded with more content (insight into the characters and the overarching mystery) if I choose to ask for a hint than if I solve a puzzle by myself, which inverts the usual motivation for a puzzle game. That said, I find the story so gripping that I'm still going to (tentatively) give it 5 stars. I'm positively hooked, and I can't wait for the next chapter.
Thank you for the kind words and feedback! That issue with the hint system definitely crossed my mind as I was making the game, but things were pretty far along at that point. As a heads-up, you're never punished for using hints, so if you think you know the answer, feel free to ask the other Contestants as often as you'd like to see what they have to say. Also, nothing *critical* is ever hidden in the hints, if you were wondering.
I hope you enjoy new chapters as they're released!

I think Liza needs glasses or contact lenses, and that Sent has control over the Four elements, and has any power under the time control. Is that even possible or am I being paranoid with this game?

What i think the explanation to the riddle on Chapter 12 is: I believe that, although the anwser can be found without Liza's help, it is difficult enough that most players will have to use her advice. Now how was Liza able to solve the puzzle though, when no one else could? My thinking is that she simply didn't.Her father is rich and powerful, so she could have easily relayed the information of the puzzle to him and let him or someone who works for him solve it.This also explains why she didn't want to explain how she solved it.

even after having the solution to chapter 12 handed to me, I don't understand how it fits or is the solution to the riddle.

Really love the game! My only issue is that the fact that there's 1 puzzle/episode makes it feel slow for me. I mean, the dialogues gives lots of lore and stuff, but I'd still love more dialogues.

From what I've heard, it has that vibe from Zero Escape and other such games! I'd really love to experience it for myself and I only get out of the starting hotel room before I get a pop-up error.
'Out of memory. If you are the developer of this content, try allocating more memory to your WebGL build in the WebGL player settings.'
Any help?

Just finished chapter 1.... I'm reminded of the Nonary Games, and that is a great thing! Can't wait to see how this will play out.

Oh, no. What will I do with my life FOR A WHOLE WEEK!? :D
I have feared from the puzzle with cards as I am not so great with these games, but it was so simple. :D I think I could finally figure out who Sent really is - but I don't know how the person can be in connection with all the contestants. Not yet :P - but I won't tell, maybe on Reddit as I previously promised to show my theory.

Amazing game! I love everything about it so far!

The puzzles were good and easy to understand the first few times, but chapter 12 really stumped me... i have no idea how to play poker, so it was really hard.

Very nice! Getting serious Professor Layton Vibes mixed with a sort of PG SAW. Well done so far! It feels very professional.

There are 30 episodes planned for this game, for the record, with a break between episodes to make it into two distinct parts, if I remember reading about it right. The red door thing is not a bug, it's a deliberate choice, as far as I can tell. Standings change based on actions and choices you make throughout the game - I've stuck with Aether for everything so far, and so her bar's the highest, but I've been kind of mean to Liza, so hers are the lowest. Think of it as a relationship bar.

@Percon, the game is really good so far, it is similar to "9 hours, 9 persons, 9 doors". I love how the story progresses and every time there's a story, there's a puzzle ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ and I get excited when there is a new episode :D :3 ;) ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ Keep up the good work! ʕ•ᴥ•ʔʕ•ᴥ•ʔʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
