It does seem that some lines are cut short mid-sentence and they aren't appearing when scrolling back. For example one such line is near the end of chapter 5.
Also, the game is great.

Wow. I'm really impressed by this game. I've played many flash games and a few of them had a lot of text like this, but this is the first time I've ever been interested in what the characters actually have to say.
I love the constant twists that were in the story (especially the one in chapter 7). That twist made us (Ink) seem clever, while still leaving us (the player) in the dark. That made me feel like Sherlock, going around outsmarting people, and also Watson, the one being surprised.
This game let me have my cake AND eat it too!
If I could ask for anything, that would be a way to skip dialogue, as I LOVE exploring new dialogue paths, but having to replay an entire chapter for it seems a little tedious... I mean, I'll still do it because I'm curious, but still!
I can't wait for more updates.

When I clicked at the "Chapter 5"-button my browser went all "website could not be found" on me, and I were 100% sure there would be a papier-maché guy appearing on the screen saying "Welcome contestants!"

I hate this game. Lame, boring walls of text laced with stupid puzzles isn't a good combination of anything but crap. The pleasure of playing this "game" ends right after chapter 6 or 5, thanks to shitty personalities of the heroes and this suffering called "haha, you cna't skip anything, lolka, because i made this game this way"/ 2/666. Would never touch it again.

This starts out good, then gets AMAZING, then gets predictable, then gets shit. Sorry to the author - yes, you chekov'd the ending to chapter 17 elegantly, but throwing in a SAW-style twist to your main plotline actually weakens it, imo. Not going to put any spoilers here, because playing through most of this was absolutely incredible. Excellent characters, fun puzzles - very solid. From the 'John Doe' puzzle onwards though, it just feels super-forced.
If I'd not finished chapter 17, I'd probably have given this 4-5*. With the forced bioware choice, and the totally-not-a-shock reveal from Sent, I'm going for 3. Still worth a play, but honestly disappointed. Thanks for chapters 1-16!

I went into this extremely cynical about having to click through a bunch of dialogue windows (I usually HATE these type of games), but it was surprisingly likable enough to get to me hooked into the story and actually invested in the reading.

Played this for a quest. It SUCKED. It's mostly a click through and read, followed by some annoying puzzle to complete the chapter. I go through the 7 required for the badge I needed, but was sucked into the story. Not a particularly good story, but just good enough I had to finish the story. Then it ends on a cliffhanger. Just don't bother.

It's now even about clicking continue, only scrolling through text... I guess the story is compelling or something, but it's just to much to read for an internet flash game (i takes 5minutes to SCROLL thorugh text to the next puzzle, let alone ready this...).

jebuv, 40 minutes of dialog you can't skip for one sliding puzzle.? please just give us a skip button. Only played for the 2017 badge.

Why did it have to end there? This is an amazingly good game, some puzzles are a bit difficult but that is what makes it fun.

Halfway though the story but it feels like it's a story that "everyone died" and it's just an afterlife way for ressurection or something similar.. it feels like it would answer all questions.. just like in other stories/games like that.. I am only in chapter 17 but I had a feeling since chapter 1, and it seems to lead to this type of ending..
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@flabbleblopp That's probably because it's not the end. This is the first arc, the second arc, which will conclude the story, is not finished yet. The end of chapter 17 is more of a cliffhanger than a definitive open ending. And for that, it's perfect.

But... but... but I NEED to know what happens next and how it all ends! I kept getting forced to start over just to get to the end of what's here... I hope to see the rest of the story soon!

Man I am really into this game, but twice now my browser has crashed and I've lost all progress. If it happens 1 more time I give up.

OMFG. If you can tolerate the long-windedness of the game dialogue, this is actually a 10-star game. The story line is an incredible piece of work and had me sitting on the edge of my seat at the end of chapter 17. And I'm assuming there is more to come because that was a definite cliff-hanger: does she do it or not? One puzzle per chapter and I found them to be quite unique except for Chapter 13 which was a total pita to solve and needs a skip button imho. I for one would have done anything to skip the #13 puzzle! Developer....JOB WELL DONE. I appreciated the ability to speed up the text loading for each conversation so besides that tool I'm also giving this 5/5 for an excellent story and fun unique puzzles.

Game loads an 'EXIT CORNERS' title screen and then does nothing for over half an hour now, doesn't respond to any keypresses or mouse clicks.

Solved 'till episode eight while drunk, no hints required.
sort of long tutorial i guess?
Anyway if i replay a chapter does it change the outcome and dialogues in other chapter depending on my previous choice or not?

Did you think we would enjoy watching Rae become the very thing he'd made fun of during the first test? Well, sorry, I don't. Just the opposite; I felt like I did all that just to play "We Become What We Behold", another game that clearly assumes the player is a vile P.O.S. (and gets really mad if it turns out you are not). Want to prove me wrong and get me back on your side in time for the next chapters? Have Beth pull a King Solomon and Rae manages to yank his arm out all by himself (which will save you from having to redraw him with just one arm too).

i love that the hotel is the 4 elements and aether is sometimes used as the fifth element... I'm assuming that's where you got her name?

I'm about 10 minutes into the game, and so far have had virtually nothing to do but click. Is this a point-and-click version of the anime Gantz? Really feels like it.

If the game keeps crashing, just keep refreshing the page until your save data shows up. As for the game, story line is pretty intriguing and every decision seems to affect the relationships around you too which is awesome.

Just an update from about 2 hours into the future from my last post, i advise EVERYONE who hasnt given this game a chance to give. it. a. chance. The beginning is boring and I feel like it should have been less dialogue filled but the further you get the more you want to play. There were at least two moments so far (I JUST finished chapter 10) where my heart skipped at the cliffhanger and i just stopped and stared at the screen for a few moments. I agree even more that this shouldnt have been badged to attract anyone to give it less than an amazing rating but seriously this is great.

While it does seem to have a decent story and whatnot, I do have to agree with the people asking how an interactive novel got two badges let alone a game of the year spot? I feel like it hurts the game more than it helps by attracting badge hunters to a niche game. Especially since theres a badge for sitting through 17 episodes of this??? "Hard" shouldnt mean "drawn out and tedious" I am NOT insulting the story at all, just the fact it got badged.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
how and why does a interactive novel make it int game of the year list? THis is terrible. can skip through the boring text fast enough.
