I have a simple enough theory about why there are five rather than four contestants. Sent wanted/needed them to get through the game.

Huh, after mysterious disappearance of my progress yesterday, it is back today. Odd, as if 'sent' is messing with me, hahahaha.
I read the link you provided, and it seems that first thing happened to me. I will try refreshing if it happens again.

Exit/Corners is probably one of the most well-written things I've ever seen. For something that's not even MMO-styled huge, the lore is wonderful, the detail and the puzzles are fun, but the only thing that ticks me off is the static sound on the loading screen.. Not sure if it's my speakers (it disappears when I go into a chapter), or whether it was intentional.
If by loading screen you mean the main menu, the game plays a low, slowed-down track. It's possible that it's a bit static-y if your speakers aren't great with bass, though that's just a guess. Glad you're enjoying it, though!

Huh, my progress disappeared somewhere, so I will have to start over. I don't mind it somehow, as this game worths playing at least twice anyway. I wonder what caused this though. I didn't clear the cache or anything.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Oh come on, so little happened this chapter. And by the way, you forgot to send out notifications that it was posted so I almost missed it.

I thought I had Chapter 7 all figured out, but I didn't. I still don't get why the tiles were the ones they were and not the ones I thought they were

Chapter 16 was the first lame chapter. Puzzle solved by itself that only a very select handful of people would ever have got without cheating...
Sincerely hope this is just a hiccup and not a sign of things to come :s
Hey, sorry this happened. First and foremost, try reloading the game - sometimes that fixes it. See here for details:

I *screamed* in frustration from the cliffhanger at the end of Chapter 16! That's how you can tell it's a really engaging story.

Spoiler alert:
For those who managed to guess the RN15 puzzle correctly (like me) and have a trouble because of lack of explanation: items are sorted by "rts" or "gnirts" or 'yllacitebahpla" (read backwards). That's what "ear" figures out if you keep asking for tips.

If this game were a novel, it would be a real page-turner. Though, none of the questions I could ask Sent were the question I wanted to ask. I wanted Ink to ask "Why is it that Liza and I are coughing up blood?" That is a mystery that needs to be addressed, and it does seem like a conflict as urgent as the bombs under the hotel.

What bothered me was solving I think it was 15 without hints with a correct first time guess, and afterwards they just talk about one of the others (Rae?) solving it, without explaining why it was the correct answer. All of the others, you could get it right first time and they'll explain why it is right but not that one.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@d0ggg, I solved 16 on the first try without hints. Only two "months" made any sense, it's a mathematical puzzle not a programming one.

I really think this is beeing one of the best experiences i ever had in Kongregate... Not only is the history engaging and the puzzles, for the most part, really challenging, but the episodic estructure makes me ansious as every chapter ends with a cliffhanger that. This makes me wait a whole week excited about the next one and i really feel the characters developing throught it. I think this is the most a game made me feel that i'm watching a series or a manga, and it really works for me. A trully espetacular game to behold and i'm really greatfull for you for this experience.

I get how puzzle 16 is supposed to be Rae's specialty, but it kinda sucks to get a puzzle you'll never find the answer to on your own. Also, my friend is a VERY experienced programmer and he had no idea why the two dates equaled each other.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
[Spoilers ahead]
based on what I'm seeing, each section has some persons specialty. For instance, when you enter the green room, Beth becomes the best person to talk to to solve the puzzle, but in the next section Rae even says that these last few puzzles have been computer-science oriented. This his his specialty just like Beth was. that probably means that the next section is going to be sociology oriented, which is Aethers specialty. but since there are five people, one person won't have a section and I think that they will have something to hide.

Now that I've played Chapter 16, I have a few more questions. I already have some ideas for [spoiler] what Aether's confession will be. I also see that confessions might also be a theme.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@CharlieF21 No, Sent's an AI. I haven't played Chapter 16 yet, though. [spoilers ahead] In Chapter 15, Sent says he's neither male or female, implying he's an AI. Right now I'm thinking maybe Sent is Rae's program, RN. I'm also thinking Sent chose each contestant to toy with their emotions and see if they fall for his traps, like Beth's garden.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
btw, I don't trust Beth at all. not just because she was a jerk at the beginning of chap 16, but there's something off about her. shes the only one that doesnt seem to fit in- age wise, connection wise, etc. And she seems to be put forwards as the motherly one that you're supposed to trust. That just rubs me the wrong way... I got my eye on you, beth!

I'd remove the skip puzzle button. The continuing story is reward for progressing though the game and the puzzles aren't very difficult
The skip button *should* only appear if you've already completed the chapter, or if you've used the "OPEN" trick. If it appears somewhere else, please let me know!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
[SPOILER] I'm convinced Aether knew who Rae was before he introduced himself, Ink thought she was shy, but she must have know something about him from Tiana's words.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Chapter 16 has me confused as heck. Is Aether Sent? I thought that as soon as sent got Ink alone. But then, how would she be talking when Sent talks? Maybe she can type it in to her Gemini? Is that why there's only four of everything, because she decided to join last minute? What if Sent is just telling her everything? These cliffhangers leave me questioning soo much
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i love this game, especially since you have to give the right answers to get more clues, like how in chapter 16 only by giving the right recurring number will you understand better the situation
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The first few chapters reminded me greatly of 9-9-9 (9 hours, 9 persons, 9 doors or whatever order it was). I was about to conclude it was a knock-off until it took a completely different route. Now I'm hooked. Bravo. Looking forward to its completion.

Well, since Ink is the protagonist, I'm wondering if his appearance is inspired by the creator's own appearance or his (her?) friend? This thought stops me from criticizing him, but I must admit that his model is indeed looks different from the others. So is it you, Percon? :)

Finished ch15 then checked the extras. Whoah! There was a trust factor!?
Maybe I should replay the game and see if I can get better values?
Also, I'm not quite clear on the Paranoia. I'm not sure how high the amount is, what's good (amount), and how it affects the game.

Except drawing of Ink, I really appreciate your work. A really nice mix of human thinking, dialogues and puzzles. I mostly enjoy puzzles and thinking on them, but story of each character has and their past gives the game really different taste. And another think that gives taste is the surprises that revealed lies causes. Both you and GeminiGamer(Developer of Medieval Cop) knows how to give puzzle-lovers what they want in a specific way and causing us get overdosed with this taste. And to add, as I see you give importance to your players and fans, we would thank you very much for that too.
But still, Ink's drawing is off.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Excellent game. The only thing that makes me feel off is, you could draw Ink better. I almost feel ugly piece of s*** when looking at other characters.

@Ivangorod - there are 30 episodes planned, but the dev will pause between the 'first' and the 'second' half. Judging the space for new episodes, the first half probably ends either now or after the eighteenth episode.
Just want to mention that this game is amazing.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
By the looks of it, the chapter screen might be completely full with chapters. Unless the dev adds the option to scroll through more chapters, I believe the game might end soon. I do hope that isn't the case, as I could play this game for a very long time. And I mean a VERY long time.

character voice is the sound made when the text is displayed by a character. It makes it seem like the character is more alive. @HomebreDeOro
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
the "character voice" option in options confuses me, is this voiced? i have it to on but always have to read, they don't speak its confusing.
